Carroll has so much potential, it would be criminal for him to be sat on a bench right now. Genuinely think he'll set Loftus Road alight this year, they will adore him.

I can see him being a revelation there, just like Townsend and Walker. QPR fans must love our club for loanees.

Still think he should've gone to Ajax. He would've learned so much over there, although I agree that he would probably not have had as much game time and not even sure if he would have been played in the CL. But Ajax have a philosophy, they train and produce intelligent footballers, and player of Tom's stature is a perfect fit for that style of football.

He is 21 with very limited amount of competitive football under his belt, there is no amount of coaching or training that can substitute for regular football at this point.

Bollocks, that's a dud deal for him and us. He's well beyond that level. I can only hope there is a call back option in the winter window and we can shift him into a PL loan for the back end of the season

And where has he proved it?

He hasn't and therefore no PL loan enquiries with promises of regular football. That may change IF he proves to be well beyond that level. From what I gather he certainly wasn't beyond that level one and half seasons ago at Derby. He has probably matured and developed, but it's not going to easy. QPR alone have on central midfield (counting Niko there even if he is no.10) four players with international experience on senior level (Krajncar, Diakite, Jenas and Barton - combined for over 100 caps), one with clearly more U21 caps on his time that Tommy has (O'Neill) with couple of more seasoned veterans (Henry and Faurlin). I firmly believe that Tom will shine, but without having showed his current ability on competitive games, he - or us for that matter - can hardly look down on that bunch or at the level of Championship generally.

Smart loan. Not only will he be the focal point of that team, but he will get used to a league that is more physical than the EPL. That's what many of us are concerned about with him, he has the technique and mental attributes, now he can work on the physical side too.

The Ajax link likely wasn't even legitimate. Come on guys. This is a good opportunity for him.

Harry's brand of 'just go out there and do your stuff son' approach will benefit him immensely I think. He won't be over coached or crushed to fit a system, more like a bird able to flutter it's wings. Could turn out to be a good loan move for him.

There is zero evidence that an offer fro Ajax was actually on the Table.

Not totally convinced that he will feature as much as we like. QPR are stocked with Harry's favorite dish, namely seasoned veterans. He is not exactly renamed for bringing through youngsters ....... Here's hoping that I am dreadfully mistaken about this....

He played last thursday and was outstanding.

No he wasn't, he was good at home against Georgian side that had lost first leg 5-0.

His CV carries couple of loans (Orient & Derby) which were hardly earthshattering and 3 youth international caps. Let's see what he is up against on central midfield or at no.10 if we're going to use such.

French international, who cost us close to £10m and who has been on the team of the year on Ligue 1. Two Brazilian internationals, one of who has been immense for us and another who was for a while this summer our record purchase. Belgian international with close to 50 caps, was very good with us last season, shone on Fulham too. Has been linked with rather glamorous clubs in the past (though same goes with practically whole bunch). Young German international who was very good at top bundesleague side, captained German U21 side recently and netted 14 goals in 21 games there. Danish international with same age as Tom, but with close to 40 caps, over 160 games with Ajax and with quite a stats from recent seasons. Ajax talent of the year, Dutch footballer of the year, Danish footballer of the year and so on. Moving to those that can fill no.10 we have Bundesleague and PL proven player with close to 1 goal in every 3 games and despite being just 2 years older than Tom, already scored over 50 club goals from midfield. And then there is our record signing, young Argentina international with 15 goals last season at Roma. And even Chadli has played as no.10, Vertonghen, Kaboul and Chiriches as midfielders.

So yeah, snowballs chance in hell.

And I've liked what I've seen from him so far, but there are hardly guarantees of playing time even at QPR. Though personally feel he should play and he would do rather well if he did.

Do you think he would have over hit the through ball to Walker by about 30 yards that Sandro the brazilian international did on Sunday ?

Are you suggesting that at this stage in his career you would pick Tom Carroll over Sandro in a starting 11 based upon one hypothetical piece of anecdotal evidence?
