Hopefully Depay or Rodriguez if Townsend frees up the cash.

I've a sneaky feeling that Dembele to Southampton in P/X for Schneiderlin could be the sensitive one. He played under Koeman at AZ after all.

No chance Dembele would go to Southampton.

not sure how you managed to get that out of what JJ said

quote-
Cant divulge anything on MS or MM as too sensitive.still confident on 1 of them.

If MM is too sensitive means its far from done, unless it is reliant on players going Southampton too.
You said MM and then talked about Southampton. You're confusing me :p

I don't think Musacchio is as close as people are suggesting......JJ has gone from saying VERY confident to "still confident on one of them", and along with their manager's quotes, there might be a problem.

Think Townsend leaving could mean Depay coming in tbh.

Interesting from JJ although his snippets now open the door for us to speculate.

For what it's worth I'd say we'll sign Yedlin and Musacchio, Schneiderlin will run till the wire so down to brinkmanship there and if we do make some bold departures then there may be scope for a late deal for Martial who JJ didn't poo poo the idea as opposed to Depay.

If Townsend leaving is enabling it though, that would leave us with 4 CFs (for 1 position) and only 3 WFs (for 2 positions).

Townsend leaving would surely have to signal a LWF arriving.

maybe they view Martial as being able to play the lwf like Rodriguez even though both are strikers, the Prem's a hard place for an 18 yo to lead the line

That's a good shout, breeze, but wouldn't qpr want a buy option on him in any loan this time? Don't think they want to be in the position like last time where he played well for them and then we just yanked him away from them.
I don't think QPR are in a position to make demands. They'd probably be grateful to get Townsend with or without any buy options. IMO Townsend should be given more time at the club. His last injury set him back and hasn't really had time to push on... Loan would be good for both clubs but if QPR offer a large amount maybe Levy will take the offer and use the money on another winger/attacker. As long as Poch has the final say on who goes or who stays. I don't want another transfer window when players are forced on the manager.

I can't help thinking that the QPR £10 mill bid for Townsend is a Harry back scratching against maybe another player loan whilst we try and talk up his value in an exchange with Soton. They apparently were keen earlier this summer although iirc that was pre Koeman. With Soton talking up Schneiderlin's price no doubt we will be looking at ways to boost the valuation of any possible swaps

Hmm? It leaves us with Ade, Soldado, and Kane up top, and Eriksen, Chadli, Lamela, Holtby, Lennon, Ceballos for the three behind the striker... I do agree that we would look to replace Townsend though, Depay seems like our first choice but there may be others (Remy?).

With Utd and Arsenal needing CB's i can see one or both of them bidding for MM, just hope MM likes the idea of working under a fellow countryman

Cant see QPR affording Townsend, they got a heavy hit over FFP and Fernandes had to sell his F1 team recently due to money troubles so think most likely is aloan or ideally with Remy going other way

Townsend to QPR would give him first team football and the chance to get back into the England team. Remy to us (if it happened) would give us another experienced attacker and cover for Ade if he goes to the cup of nations.

It could be a good fit for a season loan swap.

Probably because JJ has already said in previous comments that he is confident that MM will get done. And in this he says he is "STILL CONFIDENT".

Hope we don't sell Towsend, especially since alternatives don't seem to be much better anyway. Maybe give him time until January and then go for Rodriguez if he doesn't impress enough.

I'd be willing to sell Townsend on 3 conditions; 1) It's a very good offer, 2) We have a better replacement lined up, and 3) We put a buy back clause in his contract.
