I know I'm in the minority here but I'd be sad to see Townsend go. He has so much potential if coached correctly - he didn't get called up for England for nothing (yeah I know it's England, but still...). Also, he's a local lad and a genuine Spurs fan. I know that shouldn't matter and if we get someone great in to replace him then fair enough, but I'd love a player like that to succeed here, like Ledley did.

If Poch doesn't rate him or is happy to let him go, then he knows best and I'll completely support Poch in doing so, but that doesn't mean it won't come back to embarrass us in the future. When all's said and done, he's got an amazing left foot and if he can develop a football brain, I think he'll be a great player. Big 'if' but certainly a possibility. He's still only about 12, he'd currently be a great squad player to have, in my opinion.

I know this is a joke but as much as I'd want to know everything about our transfer dealings, if JJ says particular info is too sensitive, I'd rather not know...
Of course, but the coaxing obviously worked to an extent, cheers JJ!

be dissappointed if getting MS mean't no MM as we desperately need a centrehalf whereas we are quite well off for the midfield places.

What do we market our deadwood as now? Though our deadwood is of significantly higher quality these days :cautious:

Siggy gone and potentially Daws and Townsend going. Surely this is very bad for our homegrown quota...
I'm sure the club know what they're doing in terms of meeting the homegrown quota.

I'd like to see Townsend sent to QPR on a 1 year loan which will see him play every week. If he does well then bring him back next season or if we want to sell his value would only go up from having a good season in the prem.

He's confident on MM.

And anyway, how would getting a CM suddenly mean we wouldn't get a CB. They are 2 completely different transfers in 2 different positions...

There won't be any problems if we sell those players since there is no such thing as a home-grown quota. The rule is that you are only allowed 17 players who are not home-grown. You are still allowed to have foregin U21 players who does not count as part of the 17. Last year Eriksen and Lamela were registered as U21 players. Dier will be an U21 player together with the likes of Bentaleb, Veljkovic etc.

Edit: I was wrong about something and corrected it.

I'd guess Musacchio is the one more likely to be done. Scheiderlin, whilst ideally would be a good signing, is not a priority when we already have Sandro, Capoue, Paulinho, Dembele and Holtby, plus Bentaleb, Mason and Carroll on the fringes.
I'd guess Schneiderlin's potential arrival could spell the end for one or even two of those listed above.

Regarding Townsend, I agree it'd be better if he stayed. Lamela, Lennon, Eriksen, Chadli and Townsend is about right for that advanced three in midfield.

Presumably because we are only willing to pay for one of them.

Things starting to hot up but nothing imminent apart from Yedlin i believe.
Cant divulge anything on MS or MM as too sensitive.still confident on 1 of them.
Also outgoing players is sensitive too as will become apparent, nothing sinister but still in negotiations.
I think the best thing that could come off for all parties if the money is right is.. QPR to get Townsend as we will then go for one of the many names that has been reeled off in the press.(cant spill on who though)!!
Enjoy your day at WHL if you are going and i will be doing the nudey run at HT....

Hopefully Depay or Rodriguez if Townsend frees up the cash.

I've a sneaky feeling that Dembele to Southampton in P/X for Schneiderlin could be the sensitive one. He played under Koeman at AZ after all.

not sure how you managed to get that out of what JJ said

If MM is too sensitive means its far from done, unless it is reliant on players going Southampton too.

Last year Eriksen and Lamela were registered as U21 players and I think they will be this year as well because they only turned 22 this year. Dier will be also an U21 player together with the likes of Bentaleb, Veljkovic etc.

"An Under 21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences."

Neither Eriksen or Lamela were under 21 on Jan 1st.

That's a good shout, breeze, but wouldn't qpr want a buy option on him in any loan this time? Don't think they want to be in the position like last time where he played well for them and then we just yanked him away from them.

Nothing to do with the fact we pissed his club off and they said he's not for sale? I'm pretty sure we want both, just if we can get the right deal.

Okay, so they are not U21 players, still doesn't make a differance in regards to the worry people have about home-grown players.

But this is not ITK related so lets not go on about it anymore. :)

Am I the only one that's concerned about the MM deal being deemed too sensitive to talk about? I thought that deal was basically done and dusted.
We need this deal to come off, and if that means no MS then so be it.

Well we all know we're not going to spend a penny more on transfer fees than what we bring in. So unless there's a high profile departure coming then we are only going to sign one of MM and MS.

I think it's lots of things: River Plate have a few gripes about sell on fees, Villarreal are after a replacement and we'd rather not get gazzumped by certain other large PL teams currently looking for a CB. :)
