But surely there is a reason why we got rid of him🤷🏼‍♂️. Why is he suddenly worth bringing back after a year in the championship. ??

don’t think he has the defensive capability that Ange would want . Homegrown or not
Representing his time away as one season in the Championship simply isn't true.

We sold him 4 managers ago after Poch didn't play him or send him out on loan.

He's had 3 full seasons in the Prem and 1 in the Championship with Southampton since leaving us where the Southampton fans rate him very highly.

I genuinely can't think of why you'd represent his time away from us in such a way. If you don't think he's good enough for us, fine.

Yes but we are not going to get all the pieces in one swoop.

Look at Arsenal, they've signed some poor players who are nowhere near the quality required (Lukongo, Tavares) but that's because they could'nt fill all the needs with brilliant choices.

If getting KWP for a decent deal helps us sign wingers, a 6 and a CF that make a huge difference then KWP will be a compromise until we can go bigger in that position.
There's that word again: compromise. It's been the story of so many of our transfer windows over the years.

We're going to need at least 5 first team squad players. Do you honestly think we'll identify 5 obtainable, big money signings that will all sign for us over all the competition?

Kyle Walker-Peters is nowhere near good enough for where we want to be.
27 years old and playing in the championship.

I really hope we aim higher than that.
Id rather promote a youngster.

If he'd pushed to leave Southampton after they got relegated, would that somehow make him good enough?
