Ignoring the rank stupidity of at least two question posed already in this thread, regarding post no38, Billy White explaining his smiley. Please read it.

That is a perfect illustration of why we have the no bashing policy on SC. Sadly it seems BW has focused on a post made on this site and that's a lesson for us too. I've thought for a while now that the bashing thing needs to become something we're a lot firmer on and although it'll be too late in this particular case, it bears saying again. Anyone bashing ITK will at the very least lose the right to access/post in the ITK Forums/threads and possibly even the site as a whole. Zero tolerance from here on in.

Edit: Please, as kind as they are, no more reps. Gonna stick around. ;)

BW is not the only one to leave a forum today.

I don't think there are many SC's who would think of me as an ITK basher. It's not my style and I'm definitely one of the people around here who would normally rein in that kind of thing.

However, BW has very definitely closed down his account because of something I did and said yesterday, for which I am very sorry this morning. After BW posted his "frowny" yesterday, I posted a list of his comments on here so that people could make up their own minds about what it meant. A good while after that I also made the following post in reply to someone who said "Hold on, Why on earth did he post a sad smiley":

"Got to be honest, I think it's pretty pants just posting a :( and leaving people floundering as to what its exact meaning is."

I then went on to say in a later post:

"... I certainly would want to go so far as to say that his information isn't reliable. I just think the :( wasn't very useful."

So, as you can all see, BW has closed down his account because of what I said. I'm not going to defend my actions yesterday becIause they were at best thoughtless.

I am sincerely sorry for my actions and unreservedly apologise to Billy White and everyone on COYS and SC who will no longer have the benefit of his information.

Also why are people ignoring LLM's post unequivocally shooting down any possibility of a Bale sale? For the least couple of weeks posters have been taking everything he says as gospel but now he is going against the grain he is being ignored.

I don't think he is going, but I also don't think we would give any external parties cast iron guarantees that we would not be selling. For,starters its not their business how our owners decide to run us, and secondly you could never rule out a ridiculous bid coming in, I.e. over 100m.
Because Bale would have to agree to leave anyway so his guarantees would be all a sponsor needed.

It wouldnt be up to THFC to give guarantees about Bale but Bales team. For example, all this advertising by NBC in USA about EPL coverage, people buy into it over there then when the new season starts theres no Bale as he has gone to RM - not good for business and somewhere like USA where a lot of people would watch it for individual footballers as opposed to a particular team. That would be my impression anyhow. (y)

One of the things I enjoy about SC, Is having the ITK and regardless of numerous warnings about big bags of salt, A lot of others still seem to take it as gospel. Having an official source declare it as true when we sign someone is a great delight to myself and others. If you get carried away with the drama like a Essex Bird watching TOWIE and can't control yourself from bashing ITK when it does not fit your agenda then drop yourself a twitter account and listen to the mindless dumb****s. Learn to sort the POTL from the other egotistical ITK's and enjoy. Better to have then have nothing at all!!

Off topic, Would be nice to have a debate about why someone rates your post as "Doh" As opposed to just chuck it out there..Rant over....Bale, Soldier and chadli...Sounds like my Indian last night....hot,hot,hot...The food not the woman btw!

I predict we will get "we have reached agreement with Valencia" statement on the OS today. This Bale stuff on the radio and elsewhere is getting tedious to the extreme. Maybe this announcement will make a bit of noise/appease fans? Of course it might stoke the fire even more though....

On a secondary note - I do totally understand BW and his stance. I can't believe that ITK's can't be quickly found out sometimes through their actual posts. BW seemed to have very specific info on various subjects which could only have come from more selective sources.

Interesting stuff about the stadium also. Would like to hear a bit more on that.

COYS (y)

Totally separate and non ITK (although vaguely Spurs) related - I see Cardiff have reached agreement for Capoue. Mind you they couldn't close the Ince deal I guess.

I wasn't around yesterday and there's nothing in the stadium thread.........what did BW say about the stadium?

Again.

DL told a PSG targeted AVB and a yet to sign Paulinho (with quotes from Paulinho) that Gareth Bale would not be sold this season.

AFAIAA this did not come with an * denoting a particular fee at which this may change.

Everything else is irrelevant AFAIAC.

All the media outlets jumping on the Marca BS bandwagon can suck a fat one.

Tell yer work mates or friends that say otherwise to put their money where their mouths are...

I have 5 different bets of a £10 that bale will be a spurs player come deadline day. I'm sick of the press 3 summers running they have tried to Destabilise us writing completely made up story's about our star players or new manager. The best this year was the daily star reporting someone had placed a 3 figure sum on bale to RM, is that news??? My mate some times puts £100 Accumulators on that don't make a bloody newspaper , ridiculous

Yes and no! Using the goat or their equivilant hides the person sharing the ITK. But if the info that's given is meant to be top secret or only a handful of people are meant to know, then its not very hard for the club to guess where the leaks are coming from. Also certain bits of info released into the media may cause more trouble than its worth for the club we support.

If information is supposed to be top secret probably dont post it on an internet forum?

If i was an agent/third party and wanted to be a bit machiavellian i would be dropping mindfucks all over places like this. Half of these ITKs are probably Zidane. wanker.

Each to their own of course, but think it will be highly unlikely Bale does leave this window. Not ITK in the remotest form, just a gut feel that Levy is no mug, and will realise the marketing potential Bale will have this season. This, imho, is why Real are after him with a vengence.

Hardly a secret Real and Spain in general are not going through the best of financial times atm. Not saying they (Real) are broke, just perhaps do not have the seemingly unlimited funds they had a few years ago. The sale of a few million shirts with "Bale" on the back would certainly please their bank manager I am sure.

Also, I do not believe a word I read in any newspaper, it's an irritating habit of mine to think the exact opposite of what is written with regards to potential transfers.

I think this is why we've seen long periods of ITK drought. Twitter & everything means that info gets out into the public domain very quickly - and why I'm ambivalent about the SC Twitter feed sharing ITK. I personally don't like it as it just attracts attention unnecessarily, but the info will get out anyway, and it may increase site traffic.

While Bale and the club aren't releasing statements saying that all rumours are untrue they are generating a lot of publicity for Spurs in Countries where we don't usually get it and getting new fans to pay attention to us......

That may sound all good and well for the club but it doesn't sit well with fans like me. More exposure in my country simply means I will be ridiculed for supporting the ONE MAN team ( Bale ) where in actual fact I've been supporting our beloved spurs since the late 90's. :cautious: Still remember being asked in school:
Who do you support collinson?
Tottenham Hotspur mate...
Totten what spur?

How fucking ridiculous is that? To say they have never heard of my true love

#rantover

The deals that Bale has signed for himself with Fifa and BT to name a few have all had something to do with spurs too, even if he just wore our kit in terms of exposure that is HUGE for us and I'm sure both DL and Bale have spoken about this.

The news paper speculation about his future fuels the fire just that little bit more. If Bale were to show his loyalty to us out right from the beginning this could take away a few thousand potential new supporters and that's not something we want. So let the papers ramble on and we just need to have faith that for the foreseeable future Bale will be a spurs player.

In Levy I trust.

If anyone has bashed his itk then thats wrong! But he wasn't moaning too much about itk bashing. He's more worried about his ITK jumping on other forums and then twitter! He wanted to stay more low key but realised that's virtually impossible.

Agreed. And don't think it was ITK bashing on here......more mass suicide!

I also blame you for famine, mans inability to make warp speed travel a reality and the fact that the lottery numbers I thought were beamed to me by the moon on Thursday night didn't win on Friday. You total b*stard. ;)

Hardly read anyone bashing him as much as anxiety written across all of us mortals' face.

Very frankly put, knowing the high pedestal you,TSH, JJ, LLM etc etc. are put at, we monitor every like, winner and watch it or I stick it up your mum's arse!! Hence, BW expecting anonymity giving out a :( and not explaining it was rather naive on his part.

Like someone mentioned before, think it was more of he could not go unnoticed as opposed to the "bashing" that he received which got him to this.

Thing is I can just about tolerate Bale being sold for a world record bid, but only if it is done quickly and we have a strategy in place to bring in 3 players of real ability into the club to make the collective strong again.

What I cannot countenance is Levy holding fast until deadline day and selling him and fumbling around at midnight like virgin on prom nignt to bring in some players the way the Scum did when they sold Cesc and Nasri. That would be beyond the pale and would see me probably lose all faith in the Levy regime.

at risk of repeating stuff, if Madrid haven't even paid for Modric yet, how the flipping heck are they going to find £85mil for Bale???

Probably all talk to show fans they're trying to sign top players. Taking into account barca signing Neymar and running away with the league. I'd guess their fans will be asking the question 'what are we doing about it?' The answer being 'We're trying to smash the world record and buy Bale.....just that fucker Levy wont sell up....Maybe next year'
