We can say goodbye to him soon, Levy has fucked him over and shat on us yet again, doubt he will take it much longer

Soon as an offer from an ambitious club comes up he will be gone, that is if he doesn't resign first, who would blame him if he did

will be his last season with us ....... he wont keep taking up the arse from Levy. I think he is too ambitious for that
Do you honestly think that he had no idea as to how Levy runs the club before he took the job?

That is your opinion. Every opinion should be respected. I don't agree though. There is no evidence that Poch has been 'fcked over' or that he is angry about his current situation. We are only a few games into the season!!

Look, now I'm no itk, but I still know people at the club. And everything I have heard suggest that Levy can't do enough to keep poch happy. The Australia tour pushed their relationship a little, but that's a case of the club doing what old Levy wants vs what poch now wants.

We haven't sold all our star players. Like poch has had at every other club. We've seen were we are short on a striker and midfielder, and addressed so accordingly. It's only as preseason and then the season starts that we realise another midfield option is more urgent than first thought.

So what does levy do, makes a very un Levy like signing on a 27 year old player for a club record fee. Who probably won't have much resale value or is incredibly marketable. But it's what poch wants so levy has done it.

Now I ain't saying levy is perfect. And he's certainly pissed Poch off a few times. But this idea that Levy thinks he can pull Poch's pants down is frankly just not true. And from what I've heard most likely the opposite.

Saw something interesting the other day, suggesting that the Mitchell thing was partly to do with Poch stepping on his toes more and more (along with the standard Levy frustrations and lucrative offer elsewhere).

Look at this timeline:-
  • Meets with Fergie for advice, the blueprint for long-term complete football manager. (official story, could have been attempted tap up)
  • Signs new long-term deal with clear job-title change from Head Coach to manager.
  • Brutally decisive on squad trimming.
  • More vocal on types of transfer targets and plans.
  • Insists on Sissoko signing at crazy 30m, Levy obliges.
  • Reports today he intervened to get Eriksen contract done.
The Good - Looks like Poch is all in and planning for a long stay. Has Levy's 100% backing.

The Bad - New territory for him, could he end up biting off more than he can chew?

Lurking through the forum I'm finding it hard to evaluate properly how the general consensus on Poch has shifted this current season. Have your views on Poch changed? What do you feel about him currently?

Myself:
Preseason was good, suffered from not having some players due to late arrivals from internationals.
Transfers were good. We covered the gaps and with Sissoko and Wanyama I feel we can revert that ugly stat from last season (Team to lose most points from winning positions).
Start to the season was Ok, but in hindsight, seeing the potential and standing of Everton and Liverpool I think those might have been valuable points taking in consideration our current form. So our start to the PL has been very good and 3rd position is very respectable.
Monaco was the disappointing one, in front of our record attendance crowd, but I still feel we played better and deserved more.
I've seen a lot of what seem like complaints or critics to Poch this season but I honestly feel like he does most with what resources he have, it's hard to see the entire picture from where we are at and I'm still very grateful he is our coach.

Transfers in: Hit and miss

Transfers out: Ruthless

In game management: Hit and miss still, but better than last season.

Media personality. Congenial and friendly, lousy English.

Tactics and system: Cautious, lacking bravery or a certain "je ne sais quoi".

Squad management/rotation: Complete guess work.

Player development: Works very well with certain types of players, can not improve other players to save his life.

Results: As acceptable as they can be for a manager who has yet to win a trophy.

Season start highlight: Very good total point tally.

Season start low point: Monaco.

Additional positive comment: Has the team grinding out a goal in most matches.

Overall verdict: Still learning the trade.

Love the question and thanks for posing!

My views have not changed. I love the guy and think he is the one to take us on a long beautiful journey. But, and there is always a but, I do think he is open to criticism.

I can't judge the way the back office works, but from reports it sounds good. The club seems settled and has standards and procedures that for seasons now have been adhered to. I respect the shit out of the work the club has made to set their image, cement their standing, and prepare for the future. Commendable all around and I think Poch is the man to lead the external facing charge ahead.

Things I would like to see in the near and extended future:

- To explore the depth chart a bit more and test player combinations in real game exercises. I still think we are trying to find the right combination and the team feels unsettled.

- The continued emphasis on homegrown talent

- The discovery of a Messi incarnate :)

Edit: In Poch I trust, but I will talk smack from time to time cause no manager or fan is perfect

What a classy guy Poch is. Loved these quotes from yesterday's press conference.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...uricio-pochettino-praises-clubs-a7326526.html

Pochettino says the England trio of Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Danny Rose, alongside the likes of Christian Eriksen, did not need much persuading.

"We need to provide the key players with a good environment a solid project and not to convince, but the players want to be part of this project. They need to feel that we are in a project we can win everything.

"Always you know it is difficult to win because only one team can win the Premier League.

"But they need to feel we are serious and consistent and very solid project and then they need to ask us to stay here, not that we need to convince them to stay.

"That is a very bad way when you need to convince the players to stay here, it is impossible to get success in the future.

"They need to ask us to stay here. They need to be desperate to be part of us."

To be honest, I was less than amused when Baldy signed him. I had wanted any of the Dutchmen. What a breath of fresh air he has provided not only for our club, but to the EPL in an age of nastiness like Maureen.

It's his understated style I like and the way he imposes his will on the playing staff without histrionics or upsetting them.

I don't remember too many of the binned off players, either senior or youth, saying anything negative about Poch.
I suspect he is very honest and the players are aware of what he wants/expects and it's up to them what they want to do.

Our last two transfer windows must have been two of the most underrated windows by any Premiership team. Anyone on the outside just didn't get it but he knew exactly what he was doing.
We can now put out a second string with only two senior players, six fringe players, and three youth products and still produce a performance.
We have had to play without Hugo, Moussa, and Rose and yet still are unbeaten.
He's targeted his key players, told them that, and offered them all new contracts to back it up.
He's created the most positive culture around the team since the 80's.

I now genuinely believe he will bring sustained success here.

It's amazing to think it only all came together about 12 months ago. 5 games into last season I wasn't 100% convinced it was going to work (yet I wanted us to perservere with him as was fed up with constantly changing the manager and he definitely had something about him) and then Mason scored that goal against Sunderland and it was a massive lightbulb moment. Weeks later we spanked Man City like yesterday and the ball began rolling.
