Can't understand why we cringe at posters calling it soccer, yet we have no problem with soccer Saturday and soccer AM on sky.

Baffling.

the original poster was being sarcastic and the person you quoted didn’t pick it up.

On a side note I wonder how the Qataris got on at Hotspur Way.

Levy doesn't want a hostile stadium where away teams and fans fear coming, filled with die hard spurs fans.
Levy wants a calm, respectful stadium where overseas fans visit , Pay top top dollar , and fills his pockets...an event .
He's started banning flags that offend sponsors now.
A guy I know has had the Cyprus spurs flag banned after twenty years, because GETIR are Turkish.
Allegedly..A&C...ok...not itk. ?

All that went with the demolition of the lane.
Levy couldn't give a toss .

It used to be on the right of the south stand
Gone, because it's was in the line of the TV camera
Disgraceful

Now you mention it, I see, it has gone. Utterly crazy really.

The Villa game when a few of us were allowed back in the stadium was when it was more than obvious he couldn't give a fuck about us. Put in the upper tier so the advertising hoardings could remain over the bottom levels. I only went to see Bale in our shirt again, but felt so betrayed that day. Lots of ENIC out shouts after the game. It wasn't the time for that yesterday but they will be back for the next home game in growing numbers.

They told my mate he could put the flag elsewhere, except there..
Kept being visible when showing Conte.
The stewards at the ground told him it's instructions from above because it's political flag.
Cyprus is a nation, not an illegal regime,
GETIR are our new Turkish sponsor, turkey don't recognize Cyprus as a nation, a EU country... hilarious.
You work out who instructed the ban.

This would happen whoever the chairman/owner is.

It's the world of sports sponsorship - trust me, I work in it.

You're being incredibly naive here. The bigger a club gets, the bigger the sponsors get, the bigger their demands get. It's normal. Want to be a big club? You have to deal with things like this that erode our soul.

Do I like this? No. Its the price we all pay for the demands our fans place on the club.

I get what you're saying.
But it's still not fair, and I just wanted people to know.

I agree it's shit and not fair. Fully on your side there. Football is being sanitized - which, I guess, is the whole point of this thread - but there's no way to stop it. It's happening to everyone. We can't turn back time. Another reason for us legacy fans to lose interest in modern football.

I'm sure I've been seeing a Pride flag recently (I don't get to go to games and only catch a few games on TV). Is it in the same place? I always remember the Cyprus flag being in one of the corners for years from when I did go to games.

WHL never ever felt as toxic as it has done at the new stadium the last 3 years imo.
You haven't been following Spurs for long enough, Tottenham boo boys have been around for a long time ,
always love the John Pratt Billy Nick quote

I had been getting it in the neck a bit from some of the sections of the crowd at Spurs but Bill expected his players to be men, and he said that the crowd paid our wages and were entitled to have their opinions. So one day, before I was due to play my first game at Old Trafford, I asked him what I could expect. He replied that it would just be like playing at Spurs, except that up there 55,000 people would hate me, whereas at Spurs it was only 45,000!

— John Pratt

Its was quite common to hear a slow hand clap in late sixties and seventies at the Lane plus later at WHL under George the boo boys at work . And don't forget Conte's first home game boos at half time mainly from the south stand.

At least those tourists are positive though. I am frustrated going but there are people who go over there and moan from the first kick. give me the positive tourists instead.

In terms of stadium, I noticed today on boardings and advertsiement that its entertainment (music, boxing etc) first and then Tottenham Hotspur 2nd. not great.
A world class outdoors event location that just happens the have a football club playing in it. If you go to an NFL game the only way you would know the stadium and the club shop is home to the mighty Spurs is the Cockerel on the roof

Are NFL fans blind then , loads of Spurs photos, wall murals etc on certain levels of the stadium.

I think it's important to note that many were saying the stadium was rocking after we beat them 3-0 Last season. Even remember some saying the atmosphere was truly incredible

Which proves that if the team on the pitch is energetic and doing well, it is reflected by the fans
Also remember the 1-0 vs City last season, atmosphere was just as good. The stadium isn't the problem, it's the fact we've been shite for the majority of 2019 to present.

The exchange rates are always good and a one off game for a huge price makes up for not being to go to all of them.

There was a fan at the front row of the south stand filming Odegaards goal ffs awful
Yes my example is anecdotal

I do think the tourists care about the quality of football too though albeit to a lesser degree so if we continue to slip down even that market will shrink over time too especially

Honestly think it's been a massive mistake having away fans the other side of the ground from the south stand
