Poch is a funny one. In spite of his public insistence that we are fine with the injuries he clearly put out a weak side today, effectively sacrificing the cup for the league
But how many on here would take winning a Trophy in exchange for not finishing 4th place in the league...I know I would.

He looked thoroughly fucked off on the bench throughout. Could anyone genuinely criticise him if he had enough of this shit?

He also needs to take some of the blame. He could have tried harder to get the squad improved. He could have tried harder to keep Dembele, to instill a better mentality amongst the entire squad, he could have picked a different system today etc

Not blaming him, but Poch should not be immune to criticism. How many times have we been so close yet no cigar??

You couldn't really. I'm at the point now with Spurs, where I think the longer ENIC are the gatekeepers - the quicker we will decline. This season has been one monumental fuck up after another & yet Teflon and his muppets continue relentlessly..

Only one man to blame for the off the field mess yet some people will still not have a bad word said about Daniel Levy. No doubt he has done great things off the pitch for this club inferstructure wise. But he is completely mismanaging the football side of things and has consistently done this for god knows how many years. I for one would not blame Potch if he walked at the end the season.. I always feel the success we have had on the pitch during his years in charge has been inspite of Daniel Levy not because of him

Things could soon turn very very ugly for Daniel Levy. He is charging us fans the highest season ticket prices in Europe maybe the world and runs the very real risk of losing the manager and a few of his best players in the summer. The novelty of a shiney new stadium will ware off very quickly with no real investment in the team and we start slipping back down the league to mid table mediocrity. Good luck then trying to sell out a 62k stadium every other week

Poch honestly believes there isn't a player in world football not named Frenkie de Jong that couldn't improve this squad? ...

Levy takes shit loads of (deserved) blame for the messes he creates, he causes a lot (loads!), but fuck a duck, at what point does hubris overtake being a good coach?

What if poch has been told that there is a limited budget this season. We couldnt even get in jack grealish.

Frenkie de jong has cost 65m. Pochs hands might be tied in the market as we can't afford anyone who will improve the first 11.

He should have started lamela today though, his team selection was so negative and lacking creativity that the result was predictable.

And what makes you think that he wants only Frenkie de jong and not anyone else who is quality

It doesn't need to be Frenkie De Jong though. There are literally dozens of players in the world that are better than Skipp, Wanyama and Dier. Just one example. Same argument could be made about numerous areas of the squad.

We do have a deep squad, it’s just decimated.

I more meant that he picks a 6ft5 striker but we never play an early ball to him, tactical genius that.

Second half penny clearly dropped but damage was done.
Eh, we have sufficient depth at AM & CB (and plenty disagree about AM). RB is a mess, LB when Rose isn't healthy is a mess. CM obviously a mess. And Llorente clearly isn't up to this level anymore.

Yes there may be but cost is everything. I'd be surprised if we had more than 30m to spend.

Look at the end of the day that’s a kick in the teeth to top off a shit week going out of both cups and sure mabye Lamela should’ve started and for me 5 at the back was a mistake again, BUT where Poch has got us to with the resources he’s had is incredible. Getting knocked out of the CL to Juventus or semifinals of FA Cup to man.u,Chelsea etc is frustrating but look how far we’ve come with the resources we have!!!

This season was always going to be tough, we’ve never had so many injuries and tired players disrupting us and weakening our team/squad due to the World Cup, AND the negative emotional impact that the continued stadium delays are having simply CANNOT be underestimated, the players and Poch got themselves motivated to play a year at Wembley, then had to re-motivate to play a few more games there and now it looks as if it could be the whole fucking season there again, that has a HUGEEE impact on the mood of the players and club as well as the finances, it’s the most difficult unsettling time/season we will have possibly ever so to do how we are doing is great.

Look sure today was shit losing like that but hopefully we can cling onto top 4 + to a bit further in the CL and then once we get in that new stadium ideally before end of this season, the mood of the manager players fans etc will lift so much added to that I have no doubt we will then make some signings next summer, the market will be easier as it’s closing later for Uk again and no WC and we should’ve shifted more of our foreign squad players freeing up spots. Ok we may lose Toby but hopefully for one season at least in the new stadium we keep the rest of our top players, replace deadwood with ideally 3 top top quality players and then let’s see how Poch does.

Poch makes mistakes but he can bloodywell be let off considering the shit he’s had to put up with whilst still hugely overachieving and improving us every season.

And what happens if he plays Eriksen (who Poch said is exhausted) and he gets injured? We've had ITK from Herc that he was nursing an abdominal injury all season.

Bottom line is that depth sucks.

Why doesn't he at least put him on the bench, you're not gonna pick up an injury sitting on the bench and it's unlikely he'll do pick up an injury in 20 mins or whatever.

I'm a big admirer of the man but resting your best players when thy could have played sends out completely the wrong message IMO.
