Teams not working hard enough last season and this one so far. Have they stopped running for him?

No, sorry you are completely wrong. Liverpool were much more in a title race last season than we were in the Leicester season. To say contrary is laughable. Liverpool finished a point behind the leaders and led the PL table for significant periods.

We were never the top of the league once in the Leicester season, and as you say, we collapsed, which again is another question mark against Poch. We finished third, so by definition Arsenal were in the race too then?
I haven't time to check this right now, but I'm pretty certain someone on here pointed out that when games played were equal Liverpool were never top last season.

It was kind of the reverse for us in the Leicester season - it felt like we were constantly playing catch up. That said we could have gone top after the NLD if we'd prevented 10-man Arsenal equalising, but Sanchez's sporny mishit shot bobbled its way over Hugo's hand and the rest is history.

I saw this damning stat yesterday and although quite how they work out 'pressed sequences' it still underlines the fact that the real ethos of Pochettino being the sustained press has been on the wain for some time now coupled with dissatisfaction in the camp and an unwillingness to follow instructions then I can't see how this can possibly be rectified.

There doesn't seem to me much smoke yet. When we tend to sack managers it happens quite quickly. Was kind of expecting him not to be here when I woke up this morning.

We definitely challenged in the Leicester season.

I think it depends on your definition of 'challenged'. We were never top at any point, and the closest we came was 2 points away in the February (Arsenal were level on points with us). From that point on, Leicester were always 5-7 points clear of us, and we ended up finishing third.

Challenging, for me, is what Liverpool have done on several occasions - jostling for first place, and at least spending some time there in the final run in; something which we've never done.

That's why the "finishing third in a two horse race" thing always annoyed me - it was never a two-horse race. We challenged for second with Arsenal and City.

Long time lurker and don’t post much, but I feel the need to post about Poch.
This is the man that has elevated the club to a position that 6 years ago we could only dream of, he has taken the club through a tough financial period of stadium building with not spending a great deal of money and had us in title races and a champions league final. I honestly think he has done enough in his time with us to deserve time and backing from us.

It's not about DESERVING. That is without question. It's about whether giving him more time is the right course of action for the club.

The fact he has lost the dressing room without doubt. Has a manager ever come back from something like this?

Nobody has come back to me on this.

We only finished third because we collapsed in the last couple of matches. And of course it was a proper title race. By that logic, Liverpool weren’t in the title race last year.

Lol...liverpool led the table lots last season

Did we even lead at any point

If there was ever a time to sack him it’s now, I think if he’s still in the job by the time we play Watford I don’t think he’ll be going anytime soon

Barely. We finished third that season. It was never a proper title race, we were always playing catch up.
Had we beat West Ham we would have gone top. That was Poch and the players fault but we did challenge. So to challenge you have to remain top then lose first position?

I think he would be gone already if not for that huge contract he’s got . I think levy might have one eye on the Newcastle result today hoping for a home win and ole getting sacked and then coming in for Poch , well that’s what I am hoping for?

How bad does it have to become for the bald one to get the itch?

I only ask, as even though there has been plenty said on here, and a few bits in the (gutter) sports press, the noises aren't as loud as they were elsewhere for (instance) when Juande was in the throws of fucking everything up ...

Wonder how much more patience Levy has this time around? (not much I can hear the cry now)

It's just eerily quiet in Mordor.

What manager has come back from this kind of crisis?

Help me out here.

Wenger, maybe. I seem to recall them spending most seasons in 12th until Christmas, then going on an unbeaten run forever and finishing 2nd/3rd as a regular pattern.

The difference being that his teams struggled with form - they didn't completely fall apart across a season break with morale issues like ours seem to have

Two ITKs came in the thread a few pages back to pass on info but since it was bashing Poch many just ignored it. You’ve gotta laugh. People are far too emotionally attached to the guy

This is starting to feel like Jol's last season. In the summer before Jol's departure we sold Carrick but carried on getting good results.

The next summer we held onto our players and bought in several young players so the naive optimist in me believed we were going into the season with a solid team and a stronger squad. Instead we were stale, opposition teams had worked us out and we performed terribly.

Against the odds we held onto our players this summer and bought 3 potentially good players. We look stale and teams know how to setup against us.

Of course the main difference is we have several players here who don't want to be here.

So as a club, the board need to decide if Poch is culpable and needs to go or if they need to back him 100% and follow his vision. Poch does have ideas and he has been here long enough for the board to know whether he is a man worth backing.

I still remain pitifully on the fence.
