:D Say what you will about him as a player but how can anyone dislike him?

He'll Roy Keane your knee on the pitch but go home to care for a fledgling bird that's fallen out of a nest.
Same attitude as Tarrico a devil on the field but an Angel off it.

It’s pure Miltonian poetry. Every mortal in this image looks downward towards earthly triumph; joyous of the occasion, distracted, momentarily at least, of life’s suffering in the face of human endeavour and success.

Not Lamela however. His triumph, much like Satan’s, is a defiance of the once benevolent father. An eyeballing of the divine, a fuck you to the omnipotent god that cast him aside for daring to dream of grandeur. It is Lucifer reborn from within the fires of hell, a clambering out of the pit, a reclaiming of his once vainglorious, terrible beauty.

I’m going to miss this fucker when he goes

Will remember him fondly but also glad to see him gone. Deserves respect for his heart and character but equally will be remembered by me at least as someone who threatened to deliver far more than he actually did.

Only lived up to the hype in flashes, but played an important role in the best/most enjoyable Spurs team of my lifetime.

It’s probably the right time, but sad to see him go.
