Now that the season and all domestic cup competitions have concluded, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as our new First Team Head Coach. Becoming the first Australian to manage in the Premier League, Ange will join us on 1 July on a four-year contract.

Daniel Levy, Chairman: “Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our Club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead."

It’s going to take some time for him to implement what he wants and try and shake the fear factor we’ve definitely got in exposing our defensive unit.

tbh I’m just looking forward to a bit of positivity and bravery on the pitch.

The next few months will be interesting in terms of seeing how he shapes his squad. At least he’s in early enough to do so.

Edit: it’s pronounced Pos-teh-cog-loo, right? ….

Nice one "Coys Daniel".
If 'fast, attacking football' and 'the link from the academy' are so important, maybe you'd like to publicly apologise for your last 3 managerial appointments which are totally and utterly polar opposite of that.

Welcome to Spurs Ange!!

Every one of my Celtic supporting mates have assured me that we are getting one of the best and that he will do a cracking job.

Let’s hope they are right!!

The Greek pronunciation would have Pos and Cog both with long o sounds, so post-eh-coe-gloo. Not sure if he keeps with that or not since he grew up in Oz.

What are the chances that I will just learn how to pronounce his name correctly and then Levy will sack him?

Really pretty upbeat about this. He's made dramatic changes wherever he's been and it's all based on aggressive, attacking football. We won't know what the fuck has hit us! Not the sort of bloke to take any shit either so Levy needs to be careful as well as some of the players. On top of that, he seems like a genuinely decent bloke which will make a nice change. Hope Mason stays onboard because he could most likely learn a lot from a bloke who has done it the hard way.

A big plus is he'll have a proper pre season to assess and get his message across so hopefully we can get off to a decent start. He'll get the best out of players like Bissouma, Kulusevski, Bentancur, Gil too and may find a place for GLC too. Bring it on. Breath of fresh air after the pantomime of Mourinho and Conte.

Blimey, how many have you got?
Lots - I’m from Belfast where there is a massive Celtic following. The people I’m referring to though are all either season ticket holders or members of local Celtic supporters clubs such as Ben Madigan. And they are all gutted about him leaving. They reckon we are getting one of the best managers out there.

For me, the change in football ethos is important, but equally a change of attitude from the manager, both Mourinho and Conte, I felt, treated Spurs like a poor relation, that they were doing some kind of favour, trying to drag us to their lofty expectations.

It’s created an awful environment to be associated to. We are the biggest club in London, not the most successful, but the biggest and we’ve a squad with some outstanding talent, I think that this new manager is excited to be a part of that and wants success.

For his system to work, the strikers need to press , and it ain't happening with Son and Kane. Making matters worse, this malaise of rewarding laziness with guaranteed first team football has caught on, such that even Deki and Richarlison seems to just jog around the football pitch

Big task ahead, good luck Ange.

That is probably my biggest concern too. Our best players are probably 4-5 years past their high pressing best. And he’s said on many occasions he will not change his style and methods.

It’s going to leave him with a problem for sure……

I think Son will be fine with the press. I think the last 3 managers have wanted Kane and Son to worry more about attacking than pressing.

I wouldn't assume a player can't press based on the list 4 years. It's the way we been set up. If the players enjoy the football, they will up their game

Son and Kane might both enjoy getting the ball and not being on the half way line too.
