36 is the right answer, and you got there with no help at all, I'm super impressed

Is St Helens a separate city from Liverpool?

If not, then Widnes or Wakefield maybe.

I've had about 7 guesses at this, not sure I should be allowed to keep trying.

@nailsy what are the rules on multiple answers?

It depends if I got one right or not.

I guess we just use common sense. Try not to do loads of answers at once as it stops other people from guessing, but if you get it wrong have another go as it keeps the thread alive. I haven't noticed anyone overdoing it so far so I think we've all been playing fairly so far.

I have a question if no-one else does.

It's 1995 and the team in white are 3-0 down at half-time. Which Spurs player comes on at the start of the second half, scores 3 and sets up 1 to help engineer a 4-3 victory as Paula Wilcox cheers from the sidelines?

Trick question innit. Pretty sure we never won a single game in the 90s.

Erm... Nick Barmby?

Not sure who was playing for us in 1995.

Danny Rose is our longest serving player so I’ll go with him.

Well NWN has said the team in white which is obvs deliberate - maybe it was a hattrick for England or somebody.
I’m going to guess Klinsmann

Sheringham?

I know these are too obvious. Just showing off the depth of my historical knowledge.

I'm fairly certain Klinsmann never scored a hat-trick for England...

Klinsmann didn’t play for England, silly!

This player never scored a hat-trick for us, although his brother once scored a hat-trick at Old Trafford.

This player only ever scored once for England, against a team that no longer exists.

The game to which I referred was also watched by the late Stephen Moore. The Whites' goalkeeper was a schoolgirl on crutches.

I hope that clears things up...

You're very sneaky Mr 9, but I think I've got it.

The Queen's Nose, right?

Which makes it Gary Mabbutt

(I say I've got it...lots of help from the wife, to be fair)
