I’m calm. We’re playing much better football. If we can shift some of the deadwood then that’s as good as a signing for me. We’re short, but we’re not going to rectify that all in the next 14 hours or so.

The fact CB is only a maybe is a real big worry, as the drop off from Romero/VdV to Dier/Sanchez is a big concern, and something we’ve known all along. Just got to hope that movement on one of Sanchez/Dier out and perhaps there is someone like Schurrs on standby for a quick deal.
Midfield, probably depends on PEH, if he goes we move on Gallagher, if he doesn’t, no dramas we go with what we have. The comment about him being named by Ange as a ‘would like to have’ is interesting though.
The bit about other names being offered a lot, I get a sneaking feeling there will be a Danjuma type leftfield incoming loan.

If Kane had stayed wouldn’t you have still wanted the centre back, and maybe Johnson too? I think we’re better and the ins have been decent but to just get Johnson with the Kane money is not acceptable. Less said about outs the better too

We were never going to rebuild the entire squad in a single window, and I'd instead buy the right players and if that means waiting a bit, no problem. We have a history of wasting money and buying more deadwood!

I still feel a CB should be a bigger priority, given our options. We are one injury away from having Dier or Sanchez, which means dropped points.

We’ve just had 3 months to identify and buy the right players. January is not as good a market for buying as the summer so the excuse doesn’t wash

Could be seen as a steady start to the reboot. 7/10
Add a midfielder, maybe an opportunistic loan CF, and clear out the fringe players like Dier, Lloris, Ndomeble, probably 8/10 window.
Make room for a couple of South American youngsters we had ITK on last week to join in Jan. Though that’s just hopeful.
Never going to be a 10/10 window, and couldn’t get to a 9/10 given we’ve sold Kane.
