Time we as a club be ****s to others. Now Bale is on the verge, 'actually no we want another £10 million Perez... Why not?' The ball is firmly in our court. Sick of being messed around/pushed around by other clubs. Levy should start moving the goalposts for our benefit.

Levy has been accused of moving the goalposts many times before. I'm sure in his eyes it was for our benefit.

The simple answer is if we don't get the right replacements for Bale then we don't sell. he has a three year contract so tough. He is a Spurs player and we should not sell unless it suits us.

Exactly right. We need to be as awkward about this as we conceivably can be about this.

From all I've read from the sources that I would regard the best when it comes to our club (Burt, JJ, etc......not potl), we have only ever been willing to sell Bale on the condition that we feel it will ultimately make us stronger. Willian and Lamela would have meant us coming out ahead imo but without that one vital piece of the jigsaw the alternative scenario to Bale no longer looks so appetizing. I can't think of another conceivably gettable player (Ljajic appears Milan bound) for that left sided attacking role that comes even close to the class of Willian either.

Even with Lamela, without Willian I can't really see a scenario where we come out on top in making the Bale deal. Hence we need to keep him. Bale should only go IF we can become significantly stronger as a result.

FWIW, I still think Willian will/has signed. I also think Real will end up paying a fee Levy deems suitable. Them not budging on fee is not going to make Levy crumble, why would he.
They will stump up for Bale, Willian will join. Still believing. Levy and Franco have gone balls out this summer, and I don't see it stopping yet.

Weird day yesterday to say the least! Not sure what to make of the Willian situation, ITK's saying it's all done then Chelsea decide to spoil it, dicks. JJ's ITK on Bale is interesting could suggest that Willian will not happen and Bale could possibly stay? Hmmm my minds all over the place so I think it's bedtime. Goodnight.

I also have faith that of Willian's club/agent do shaft us, Baldini, AVB and co will have alternatives in mind. Levy will not weaken the squad having come this far.

I wouldn't even mind an agreement on a fee for next summer. Bring on Lamela/Coentrao/Chiriches now and close the window for good. Part of the Coentrao deal can be an agreement on a future fee for Bale. It allows Real Madrid a year to get their finances in order to make it happen and Bale can focus on Tottenham for another season but can take solace in knowing his dream move is coming in 2014.

Pie in the sky? You fucking bet it is.

Bale isn't staying, they will make up any difference they need to - Don't delude yourself into any false hope; it will just make it worse.

Judging by the news Willian deal looks precarious, Lamela deal isn't done and Bale is imminent to go.

I just hope it's all bullshit and if Bale is announced tomorrow we unveil the double signing.

We'd still be turgid and uncreative. We need a proper no.10

I agree. This whole debacle with the RM webshop reminds me of the Luka Modric story last season. They "announced" him in their first team something like a week before the transfer was announced by the clubs.. Apparently by "mistake" I think was the excuse. I think more like tapping up, as those ****s seem unable to do anything but tapping players up if things aren't going their way.

Let's see if I can find the link somewhere..

Edit - Found it: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/real-madrid-website-announces-modric-move-115745221.html

AVB has said that he doesn't speak to Mourinho since he left inter to coach Academica, he still calls him the best coach in the world but they don't have a great personal relationship anymore because AVB wanted to step up and Mourinho didn't think he was ready and also supposedly recommended to Porto's chairman that he not hire him.

Well Jose of all people would understand Andre's ambition to move into management otherwise he'd still be an interpretar, Mourinho was just looking out for his own interests from a footballing point of view, obviously Andre done a good job for him & he didn't want to lose him, Porto's chairman probably asked Jose his opinion & he gave it on a footballing basis, I'm sure there both over it by now

Fuck it. RM cant pay. We keep Bale. No Will, no Lamela. I can absolutely live with that.

I would Keegan love it if Chavski's latest attempts to screw us actually resulted in us keeping Bale.

Unfortunately I suspect it's already a done deal and we're the chumps with egg on our faces.

We need to make sure we don't waste this money on average players. Overpaying for great players isn't the end if the world, but pissing it all away on 'good-enough' players just won't do. We'd be better off biding our time.
