The talk of Defoe being at Reading is interesting. I'd be surprised if we let him go before bringing in another striker (other than Adebayor).

Adebayor is a great signing, even though it hardly feels like a signing as he already seems like a Spurs player due to the loan.

My head says great signing and as good as we could hope for in his role, but my irrational ITK transfer bloodlust says I WANT SOME MORE NEW SIGNINGS (or at least ITK about some ;))

It could be like we did with Bassong and QPR. Go and agree terms, if we get a replacement sorted, we can agree the deal?

With hum playing last year, we would have beaten City away. Thus nipping the bad run in the bud before it started

At last, a bloody striker!!!

Let's hope Ade can pick up where he left off and hopefully push on even more this season and bang a few more goals in.

Well if Gio has been left out of the Olympic squad then he will have a chance to impress AVB in training/friendlies...

I'm not sure where he left off is the place for us. He started really well but then went right off the boil. If we are signing him on a perm deal, I hope to god someone sends him off to learn how to control the ball once passed to him.

Ade is a huge signing. If we hadn't brought him back this year it would have been a huge loss. Yes there are things he doesn't do so well and he could strike some of his shots a bit better and be more clinical but he adds such a dimension to our side. The fact that he is coming back on a permanent contract means at the very worst our strike force will be as strong as last year. We've got some excellent players in early and there are still weeks left in the transfer window to push on and sign some more top class players. Our squad (with some of the returning loan players as well) is already looking stronger than last year.

To be fair the team as a whole had completely gone off the boil by that stage. Ade was still putting the effort in and still doing well as a linkup player but the whole team dropped a level.

Hopefully he won't be our only striker next season and that'll actually challenge him to perform all the time.

If we do only sign Ade then we haven't learnt a thing.

Happy that Ade is coming in, on the whole he was very important to us last season. With Lloris potentially as well this summer is a million miles away from last Summer's window. This deal also means RvP probably going to Citeh.

I'm glad he plays with a smile on his face but everytime he blazes the ball over the bar, looks at the nearest Spurs player and laughs / Smiles I just want to kick his lips off

I meant in terms of what he did overall last year, which in the main was very good stats wise.

I've been critical of him and I would expect an improvement for this year, certainly in front of goal and one can only hope that a year's experience with the lads will help him accomplish this.

The big bone of contention in all of this will be his relationship with AVB though...
