So Adebayor looks likely and Defoe looks likely to leave, there only seems to be tenuous links to other strikers coming in so far. We must have a plan to buy at least 3 including Ade but our cards seem close to our chest in that respect so far.

I have a feeling that next season we will see Coulibally make some appearances. If he can live up to his promise he could be an option.

Yes he is 17 but he is well built almost Rooneyesque when he burst onto the scene.

He is very highly rated by the people at spurs by all accounts and next year could be his year.

There's nothing quite like seeing a lad come through the youth set up and make a real impact. Far too long ago that has happened for us. Think 13 years ago and a certain Mr King!

I THINK, despite AVB's clean slate for everyone, the deadwood is still that and will be sold/upgraded for the right price. AVB is impressing me greatly!!

Ffs coulibilly will not play first team football for us for another 2 years. Why can people not understand this?

How old is Gio? 23?

Its now or never for him to determine his future. Giving him another opportunity would not be the end of the world for us

Honestly why not?

If your good enough your old enough as the saying goes.

Loads of examples of 17 year old making an immediate impact and they tend to be the truly world class players.

What you are saying might be correct but how do you know?

GDS only has a year left on his contract doesn't he? I can't see him signing another one, so I think he will be out the door.

<comes into thread, sees everyone talking about GDS, checks it's not 2008 and I haven't accidentally invented timetravel, leaves thread>

What drugs have people been taking recently?

Or has everyone just lost their minds because we've signed 2 players so early on in the window?

He's only 5'7 so not a big 17 year old as such. I don't know how strong he is, or if he is strong enough yet to play against full grown men in a competitive league.

Has he been banging them in for us at youth level? is there any reason to suggest he is ready for first team action yet? I mean Harry Kane and Cameron Lancaster both made their way to the bench and UEFA teams etc under HArry but Coulibally was never considered (does that suggest he is still a long way off first team action)

I think people get carried away by his impressive Under 17 tournament for Ivory Coast and think that means he's ready, I'm hoping he does develop into a top player of course but watching Bostock's development I see the potential for promising youngsters to fail to meet expectations and I am not getting carried away about this lad until I see him in or around our first team.

Maybe you know more than I do about him, but from memory he scored a couple of goals against Inter's youth and on his debut for a Spurs XI but since then I've not heard a great deal. I agree with will probably be at least a couple of years before we see him in the first team squad IF all goes well for him. I think if he were already close to being first team ready we would have seen him in the Europa and on the bench a few times last year when we were hard up for strikers toward the end of the season.

I wouldn't get your hopes up expecting to see him tearing it up next year, all signs suggest it won't happen just yet in my opinion.
