What would be the most dramatic finish for deadline day on SSN? = A last minute moutinho signing, keep the faith!! (I might be clutching at straws but I refuse to give up yet)
i'm sure the moutinho deal is agreed with the player/agent. If we can agree with porto, the paperwork will be faxed straight across....
Still hoping.......
Losing Modric was a blow but one that was always going to happen. Gylfi was a direct VdV replacement who can play in AVB's choice of system. Dempsey is another no brainer - a real workhorse who scores goals and can play either upfront or in midfield and will combine well with the talented Dembele. Verts at the back was a real coup when half the clubs in Europe were interested in him, and we got Ade for the change down the back of Levy's sofa and a couple of books of Green Shield stamps.
In addition we've shifted most of the dead wood with the exception of Jenas and Bentley who must be infected with honey fungus. My only real disappointment is we've still got Defoe but we can shift him out in january when Leandro may be available.
Not that bothered about Moutinho who is a good player but no better than someone like Hector Herrera who is younger and would cost half the price. Kaboul's injury is a blow but we have Caulker as back up. If we do go for a CB i'd like to see us take a chance on Diego Reyes. I'm also delighted we didn't pay silly money for Willian or the massively overated Hulk.
Best of all is reading the bleatings from the know-nothing simpletons who are calling for Levy's head. If they had a winning lottery ticket they'd probably use it to wipe their arses. I'm no Levy lickspittle and i'd willingly criticise him if he'd had a bad window but IMHO he's played a blinder this time.
there's always january. we've made some good signings, can't knock any of them. case of delusions of grandeur. we can't really compete with the 'big boys' and sign the likes moutinho, not until we're regular cl competitors and have a new stadium.
ok i'm dissapointed we didn't get moutinho as he's quality but we've still had a very productful window.
I think we have a good squad still, but just disappointed more by the way we have gone about things, too much timewasting, again, going for unrealistic targets and missing out on other promising options. I think we need to seriously look at our scouting network, start identifying less well known targets that we can secure cheaper and quicker, rather than aiming for players everybody else already knows about, that cost more and drag on.

Tottenham 100% still working on a deal to sign Porto midfielder Moutinho. Whether or not it happens is a different matter #bbcfootball
