For all you slating Dempsey, pop in a tape of him playing a full 90 last year for Fulham and then form an opinion.

The guy puts in the shift and runs his socks off, has great movement off the ball, and can score some goals. But he played for Fulham, so he is shit.

Adebayor - prolific goalscorer - 5m
Lloris - France captain, only 25 - 8m
Dempsey - 3rd highest scorer in premiership - 6m

Andy Carroll - 35m
Jordan Henderson - 20m

jsut to give you all some perspective, everyone is saying what a great window weve just had, and im starting to agree. moutinho would be amazing, but fuck me, we have a squad. VDV went because he wanted to go and be with his wife. He wasnt sold to try and make a profit. So stop leaning on that.

Lloris is a top signing.

If Moutinho can be dramatically resolved, for AVB's sake as much as ours, then the window may just be saved. Failing that, Kaka on loan maybe exploiting our RM tie up, to at least salvage something in terms of creativity.

Dempsey, really not struck, wholly underwhelmed. Steady player, but I suppose if it is only £5m, not too expensive for a short term fix and better than nothing. Still screams out desperation though. Go from Leandro, to Remy, to Llorente, to Dempsey, obvious drop off in prestige and promise there.

To sell as we have, and target so publicly the players we have, the window finale so far has been depressing. Still time maybe, but in reality, serious questions have to be asked about the direction we are taking.
Levy made a big deal about building for the future, starting with a new forward thinking manager. Selling our fringe players, understandable. Not replacing them properly though, is a balls up of epic proportions. Gone off half cocked, and not planned how to finish the job properly.
At this point, if deals are not done, I feel for AVB, he has been left high and dry. I'd rather we had gone for younger up and coming, promising players, than leave all our business to the last day, and cocked it up chasing unattainable targets, only to end up with a solid but unspectacular 29yr old.

You think we'd know by now, transfer window ends in disappointment for us, but once again I dared to dream. This morning, gut feeling, and ITK, told me Lloris, Moutinho and Llorente were to become reality.

Levy has one hour to salvage this before he must be held accountable for repeating his mistakes of 2008.

6 mil Dempsey Done

Any other time I would have liked this as Dempsey is a cracking player but we really needed a playmaker and whilst Dembele is a good player and adds a level of creativity he's no VDV or Modric, seriously hope this doesn't backfire on us but can't see us getting top 5 this year let alone champs league, hope to god I'm wrong though

Funny thing as well if you listen to the BBC or Talksport they are saying we've had a great window, they clearly have no idea of the carnage in here!

Apparently a 4m euro difference between us and Porto.

Hey, when you complain about Dempsey, try to remember that he scored 23 times for a team where the quality of service was, presumably, MUCH poorer than it is here, with the exception of the playmaker Dembele, who you would assume he would have a natural affinity towards playing with. He's VERY good in the air, can play all across the attacking line, and works like a dog. For the style we're going to be playing, which involves pressing all over, he's a good signing-- he'll provide goals and pressure from the right or through the center.

And when you bitch about not getting Moutinho, you make yourselves look like a parody of shitty fans. As though we have some right to throw 30 million pounds out here and there-- we've replaced Van der Vaart with a guy who, well, outproduced him last season, quite frankly, and we've replaced Modric with Dembele, who might not be the same type of player but by all accounts is of a very distinct class. In addition to that we've signed Adebayor, Vertongen, and Siggurdson, all of whom are excellent players.

Those of you in hysterics, shuffle the fuck out. Those of you who have a clear thought in your heads about where the team can go, and how much talent we have, and what a capable manager we have, lead on.

The more I think about today, the happier I am. The lack of wing options does worry me slightly still, but if we can keep our attacking players fit (I'm looking at you, Bale and Lennon), I think we have a cracking front 5/6 with a couple of options in Defoe and Dempsey.

Whilst I'm happy with the transfer window in general, I feel that we really have dropped the ball on letting our creative players go and not replacing them.

I think we will still be ok this season but not where we could have been or should have been.

No creativity means kick and run football.

We have made a massive profit this window (in theory) and I really hoped this would be put back into the team so AVB could build the squad he wanted.

I don't get all the hate for Dempsey. He's a quality player that scores goals and is a fierce competitor. Give him a fucking chance before pooing on him. We all get that he's not VDV, but that doesn't mean he's shite. Regardless of who else is on the squad, how can you not want a man capable of 20 goals on your side?
I am willing to give him a chance - tbf he has a great record in the prem.

But

He

Is
