Just asked the journalist who wrote the article to clarify. He said the £14million INCLUDES Townsend.

Going back and reading JJ's posts on Depay, I can't help but wonder how different our window would've been if he were completely open to a move to us. He has been in incredible form for PSV thus far, and would give us a wicked, dynamic player who can get a goal out of nothing at LWF. That is EXACTLY what we are missing, and the only players that were on the market who could've really filled that gap were him and Griezmann.

Going over the transfer fees having been paid thus far, plus the potential Fryers sum, it seems we have essentially spent as much as we've brought in thus far this transfer window (approximately 27 million pounds when you consider the value of the Sigurdsson/Davies deal). I really wish we would've made loan moves for players like Song, and signed older, quality players with title winning experience who were ready to contribute this season-like Eto'o and Cambiasso, as it is clear the extra 33+ million in television revenue isn't going to be a major factor driving us to net spend, necessarily.
