Reading the posts on the Saints forum, it looks like a lot of their fans are pissed off with us for enticing Poch.

I wonder if they'll hire Sherwood as Poch's replacement to get their revenge. :cautious:

I've just realised that Sherwood has 100% win record against Poch!

Yeah, but means nothing with a different group of players and different expectations, but also they faded in a number of games, which concerns me a lot. As I say I am willing to give him a couple of years, not sure if other fans and Levy will be. I think what really concerns me is that we have gone from LVG to Poch who are completley different animals.

You'd hope we will have more of the ball in games than Southampton did so there will be less need to chase down the ball. At home anyway.

I wonder if he will do his first press conference in English? I think Levy may put his foot down on this. Maybe that's why it's taken a while to complete, perhaps he had to squeeze in a few more English lessons!

If it is Poch, why do I have a horrible feeling in my stomach that this choice has been made on the basis that someone who can speak Spanish will turn our two most expensive signings into world class players again and enable us to recoup the club's pounds next summer.

I will support him and i truly hope the fans and Levy get behind him, but something in me just says meh about this appointment and await the swingdoor to open in a few months time. Hope I am wrong and he turns out to be the next Pep or Ferguson

Sums up my feelings exactly, although worse than that I fear we have missed an opportunity with De Boer who I feel is going to go on and achieve lots of success as a coach and we'll once again be left thinking about what might have been.

At least with Fergie he turned us down, with Frank (assuming that all the rumours about Poch prove true) I fear it will be down to yet another Levy managerial screw up

Southampton had the highest average possession in the league last season.
They played less games then the teams above them.
They still have one game plan and faded regularly.

Apparently he already had an interview at Brighton and completely blew it by being a gobby, arrogant billy big balls (in other words himself). I can see him struggling to get a job.
I suspect he probably had a few testing questions about his philosophy.

Can't say I am excited about this appointment...much like the last two. Of course we hope that it works out but there is no real track record to support anything but blind faith.

Still I guess there is no one else we can get. He managed the team who finished 8th so I guess on that basis is the best available. LVG and FDB were probably just whoring for 'bigger' EPL clubs but never really wanted to be at WHL. I guess we can't expect much more

I can't tell you all how thrilled I am to read your opinions on Pochettino. I've spent the past week or two wondering what everyone thought and it's really really nice to see your collective thoughts finally posted.

I'm excited, erect, bullish, fistpumping and doing multiple happy cartwheels.

With Pochs strong tactical philosophy and requirement for players to work extra hard, I don't see Ade sticking around.

If he isn't a happy bunny he does tends to drift around like a tit in a trance, but keep him happy and he'll work as hard as most (most of the time, anyway). He's hardly Berbatov when it comes to putting in a shift, is he?

Yeah,I would agree..............this is a massive u-turn for a club that wanted LVG........De Boer seems like a natural replacement.
