Quite. That cash could be earmarked in Levy's mind for something other than transfers, or he might just not want to pay over inflated transfer fees in January, as his plan for THFC is a long-term one, not game to game like a fan's.
I'm not sure which fans you are referring to, but most of us on here want investment in the team now, not just so that we can kick on and get Champions league this season, but also so we can for once start a season with a balanced squad so we can make a start to a season that actualy gives us a chance at a shot at the title.
Not saying we could do it but wouldnt it be nice to at least start a season thinking weve got a chance?

I'm expecting another day like the last two, starts of very quiet, then lots of rumours about incomings that get quite a few people excited, then back to normal in the morning, I think this will happen every day until Feb 1st when we will wake up and find we have bought no one to improve the squad or to take that next step to the top 3 or higher, this happens every transfer window, DL willn't take that chance with the cash....

I'm not expecting anything to happen this window that way I won't be disapointed come feb 1st.

By keeping my expectations so low I can only be happy with a cheap or free signing should it occur on the last day,it's what gets me through.

Can someone please explain the net positive in cash. The last financials i read (2 years old admittedly) had us with debt of 75m but with about 11m in the bank. We were due to pay off 20m last year but that still leaves us with a negaative. Although we will have cash that doesn't say how much.
Confused.

You're assuming that there is any desire for Levy/ENiC to take the 'next step'. As it stands the current model of business has got us as a consistent top 4 level outfit and progressed the stadium.

I honestly think that the cost to push on into the top 1-3 is probably not worth the financial risk/reward in their eyes - if we keep churning along at our current level until our stadium is built ie competitive and profitable, then I think thats where we stay.
