Well done Rob and A&C for keeping the site up and running in addition to, by and large keeping us in line. You boys did a great job and I will donate later in the week when my pension comes through, I will see if I can stretch to a regular monthly donation but can't promise.

Bit of an underwhelming window, not much dead wood cleared, no additions to the immediate first team squad, signed a great young prospect though so wasn't a disaster of a window

My biggest concern post the window closing isnt Ade and Kabs still being here...its WTF is Dov going to do now he isnt bouncing between sites whoring info. He must have had more windows open than a menapausal Morrocan woman when the Air Cons on the blink

Many thanks to him for all his efforts and to Rob, A&C and all the other mods for makng this site what it is.

echo the previous sentiments on here. a&c and rob did an amazing job as always keeping us crazies entertained throughout and I'm chuffed to beans the donation drive reached it's target. guess that's another 5 months of my life I can kiss goodbye to :ROFLMAO:

shame kabs and ade didn't move on but am more than happy with the clear shift in transfer policy. think alli has got tons of potential and this is exactly the signing we should be making more of to supplement academy players coming through.

coys.

I'm not sure there's been one. We've spent in excess of £10m just twice in the January window—when Ramos was allowed to beef up the defence by signing the experienced CB Comolli forgot to sign the previous summer (unfortunately, we also blew £9m on Hutton), and when Harry got the all-clear to splurge on players to ensure we got out of the relegation mire. I doubt Levy was too happy at paying through the nose to re-sign two strikers we'd sold the previous season, and Palacios was overpriced too. If he needed confirmation that January was a good time to get ripped off, with bargains being very thin on the ground, that was probably it. When you look down the list of January signings, only Dawson, Defoe and Kaboul have lasted more than a couple of seasons, and only they, Woody, Palacios and (I guess) Keane and Cuddles can be said to have made a major contribution. Keane would probably have lasted longer if it hadn't been for the 'golfing weekend' ("Sure, lads, trust me, Harry will never find out"). Otherwise it's all been short-term signings and hopefuls who didn't cut it, like El Hamdaoui and Gunter.

I think we will see fewer of those short-term signings like Saha unless the situation is desperate, and if an opportunity to do good business comes up, like Alle, we'll take it.

I feel at a loss of what to do without all the transfer rumours. Mid-week without football or rumours is boring me to death.

Agree on the spend, I was more on about the switching focus to youth and taking a punt on younger, untried players and more promotion from the academy rather than go for already known/tried players, however good/bad they may be.

Agree we'll see fewer short-term signings too as I think (as long as levy doesn't get trigger happy and we continue to do ok) maybe we'll finally get to see a strategy play out over more than just a season or two. (y)

Big shout out to Rob and A&C for keeping everything running and everybody under control, it must be like herding a load of cats.

Very impressed with the way the site stayed up, other windows on other sites have been problematical (to say the least), and I never had any problems yesterday except for the fact I had to work through it. Like many others I showed my gratitude in the accepted way and even confessed it to 'er indoors last night (and didn't the get the slap I was fully expecting).

seems there might be a new itk over at ftl, well, media connections like was it jasper?
anyway he posted this at around 2pm yesterday and i didnt pay any notice of it cos i never heard of the guy before

zeno:
Was just told only Alli in
They want Ade and Lennon out but they are both being incredibly awkward. Both have quite a few options.
Nothing new, but my friend sounds fairly certain that only Alli in.
From Sami Mokbel. FYI

anyway, thats not that interesting now 24 hours later, but just now hes posted again, on winston reid

zeno: Again from my mate at the DM. Spoken to Winston's agent and I quote 'deal pretty much agreed for the summer'. Not sure what 'pretty much' means and how that's allowed to happen, but I'm sure it's fairly standard.

Thanks millsey. So I know that out of federation, we can sign anybody (like we had signed Holtby) coming into a Bosman this summer. But I'm not sure that's the case with EPL based players. If so, when can we begin talking to them?
