Thanks millsey. So I know that out of federation, we can sign anybody (like we had signed Holtby) coming into a Bosman this summer. But I'm not sure that's the case with EPL based players. If so, when can we begin talking to them?

thought it was 90 days prior to expiration in the same federation...

seems there might be a new itk over at ftl, well, media connections like was it jasper?
anyway he posted this at around 2pm yesterday and i didnt pay any notice of it cos i never heard of the guy before

zeno:
Was just told only Alli in
They want Ade and Lennon out but they are both being incredibly awkward. Both have quite a few options.
Nothing new, but my friend sounds fairly certain that only Alli in.
From Sami Mokbel. FYI

anyway, thats not that interesting now 24 hours later, but just now hes posted again, on winston reid

zeno: Again from my mate at the DM. Spoken to Winston's agent and I quote 'deal pretty much agreed for the summer'. Not sure what 'pretty much' means and how that's allowed to happen, but I'm sure it's fairly standard.

Sounds like your standards for whoring are slipping ;)

So we were able to win the race to Alli via the combination of a manager who will play youth and a stellar training ground.

That's really good news.

Surprised really (if rumours are true of him being Liverpool fan) that we beat Pool to his signature

The power of Poch compelled him.

Seriously though, how difficult do you think it was choosing between Liverpool - headed by Brentan who is quite honestly clueless in the transfer market and doesn't have the best track record when it comes to youth vs. Poch who may not be prolific as far as transfers are concerned, but who is renown for giving youth a chance over 'established names'?

I was fairly disappointed with this window as I felt we had a good opportunity to push on and could have done so for a small expenditure, if even that, but the founders and admins here have given me a place to rant about it free of consequence. So between that and the very stunningly impressive work done yesterday to keep the servers going despite what was clearly some wicked strain, I feel it only fair to throw a tenner into the pot despite that disappointment, and I only wish I could give more but am restricted by a mountain of American unsubsidized student loans.

Thanks a bunch fellas, this place really is a treat.

On one hand it felt like a disappointing window in that no first teamers were brought in for this season and we'll still have to pay for Adebayor and Kaboul to (not even) sit the bench. On the other hand, look around at other teams in the EPL and no one did much of anything (I assume as it's been previously said due to TV money in the summer). In fact we were one of the only teams yesterday to have two transfers, let alone any at all. All of this is symptomatic of a content manager and a program that is finally on the tracks and under control with undoubtedly a big summer ahead, but a lot of opportunities for greatness before we get there.

Thank you to this forum, those who run it and those ITK-related for making SpursCo consistently the best forum for multiple years running!

No we can't talk to him now(officially) as he is in same league.
I'm sure there's been contact though

Well I'm happy.
Rome wasn't built in a day and whilst miscreants remain, they are being edged towards the door.

Seeing Kane, Mason and Poch dressed up all nice like with a clear strategy in place and talented youngsters purchased and being integrated fills me with great hope.

Cheers to SC and all those who sail in her.

Special mention to Dovahkin the biggest slut in pommieland.

Interesting comments from JJ et al regarding a fire sale and clean out over summer with a lot of deals lined up.

Remember our last clean out and we spent 100mill on players some of which we are now trying to get rid of, so I hope Poch, Levy and in particular Mitchell know what they are doing. Too many changes can take time for a team to gel, although Soton didn't have a problem so it can be done.

Good times ahead.

Trix had mentioned the initials 'D. P.' in an earlier post. (ITK?)

I had hoped that this was Dennis Praet the young (20-year-old) attacking midfielder from Anderlecht. If indeed this was the case (and obviously nothing came of it) then this is something that I'll be looking forward to in the summer window - to see if we are indeed keen on this Belgian talent.

A quiet window - but Dele Alli looks an exciting prospect.

One thing that Tottenham Hotspur has above other clubs - including all the so-called big clubs - is that we have a super training ground, and a coach that is willing and able to develop young talent. Indeed Alli's coach at MK Dons referred directly to Pochettino as a key reason why Dele decided to select Tottenham Hotspur over the many clubs that were pursuing him.

So lots to look forward to.

Thanks to the ITK (and all contributors) for an interesting, if not fulfilling, January window.

its further back in the non-deadline day thread....if i am not mistaken the "DP" meant Double Post

You could be right in that no one followed up by asking Trix what he meant by 'DP'. I had kept quiet on the post in that I didn't want another Willian situation to rear its ugly head.

Thanks to the editor typesetter and gofors. Haven't posted much this time round, not been to well. Feeling better now. Just realised that this was a transfer window! Did anything happen! Only Joking. A good one in, Maybe our new Modric? So sorry we couldn't shift the wasters. Roll on the summer window. To all the rest on SC keep well.

I think Paul Mitchell had a huge hand - given he was a employee of MK Dons only few years back

"Post Mortem" don't like the name of this thread.

It's a remider of someone who cuts someone open, pulls out their entrails and reports the reason for their demise.......

By the way how is David Gold feeling this morning?

I still do think though that this was probably done for the correct commercial reasons though rather than spite (or at least I hope so).

If someone is effectively/reportedly pissing £3m up the wall whilst at the same time demanding us pay for our ST's earlier and earlier each season then it had better be!

I probably lean towards the BSoDL's on reflection, but that doesn't mean things like this I can't question.
