Kamil Glik who we've recently been linked to plays for Torino, a club that has a bull on their badge. Spartak Moscow are known as the pigs and have a handful of interesting players in Patrick Ebert, Yura Movsisyan and Jano Ananidze.

'Interesting' players. Hmmmm where have I heard that before?

The THST minutes are out. We are going to concentrate on young players in the £10-15m bracket. Preferably English.

@TrickyVilla must be sit back and chuckle to himself when he posts an update that has no hidden meanings whatsoever and then sees half of SC trying to find links to all sorts of weird and wonderful players.

Probably thinks to himself, I'll put them out of their misery soon.....but not just yet.

As I have said many times. I don't do cryptics or guessing games, they just aren't my thing. Bas Dost is being whored around by his people(same agents as Wimmer) but I have no idea if we will follow up or not.. If I did I would have posted as such.

They didnt say preferably english. Just referenced that our more successful teams of late have had a british spine.

To be honest, it's probably not feasible to preferably look at english youngsters in that price range. You're probably going to find better foreigners than english players in that £10-15m range. Just the way it is now due to the english premiums.

Hope not. He's not a great striker, he just had a purple patch as can be seen by his latest in a series of goal droughts

That error is just the sort of thing that will gradually become accepted as fact and it will become "Levy only wants to buy english"

15 goals and 2 assists in 16 games (4 of those as a sub) isn't not great

It's a purple patch. Look at his career and style of play as a whole rather than a good run of form.

8 out of those goals came in 3 games, and he hasn't scored in the last 5 resulting in him being dropped to the bench...

Oh my god! I never realised. Is there anything I can do? What about delete the post, write an apology? Is it the end of Spurs? Ffs.

Spurs will buy who they want. They mentioned a British core when talking about transfers. Our only signing in January was young British. We will not sign only young British but we will be looking at them.

Trust us mate, there's a good reason why people in Germany were so bewildered when he suddenly started dumping goals in after the winter break.

I suspect his agents are trying to sew seeds wherever they can to take advantage of that purple patch as much as they can, but ultimately he won't go anywhere. He'll consider himself fortunate to be at a big CL-competing club and no one more desirable will come in.

And all will be right with the world once again

If he's out for the next few games sure (and he may be after that Bendtner hat-trick), but he had just started six straight games in less than three weeks and every game before that since mid December so it's also fair to guess he may have needed a break.

edit: But I do agree with your first statement, style of play is more important than a good run.

Germans could say the same about the superior, mighty Kane tbf.

To be clear I'm not saying Dost is the best we could do this summer or that I'm even sold on him, I'm just saying after his last four months he's worth a look.

Those situations aren't analogous because Dost is currently playing his eighth season of professional football and third in the Bundesliga, and you're only just now hearing of his purple patch, while Kane only started playing in October after receiving his first professional contract last calendar year and is already the league's top scorer. Massive difference there.

I agree with what you've said 100%. My point was that we've had two bewildering stories emerge at nearly the same time of the unlikeliest striking candidates hitting incredible form in top leagues. Bundesliga fans could look at the EPL wondering how this kid Kane has scored so many in half a season without having heard much about him before.

Again, I don't think Dost=Kane. I am not sold on Dost. I am merely saying this season has earned him a scouting trip IMO.

So what you're saying then is that Kane is rubbish and going through a purple patch? :cautious:

Technically we also signed a young American in January:whistle:
