All 3 as individuals will push/exceed our highest ever transfer fee. I can't see us signing any of them.
Especially since our last two big signings Sissoko and Janssen haven't worked out (yet). The next big signing (if there is to be one), needs to cut the mustard.

And the problem is that there is no sure fire way to know they will!!

All signings are risky. Of the three people seem to be fixating on none stand out as being a guaranteed success. Admittedly some will say...... well Barkley has played in the league so wont need time to settle, we know what he can do. However, do we know he can do it better than Eriksen or Dele?? Ultimately for me that's a no so we should pass on signing him for what is probably a significant amount.
Yeh but Isco.......Spanish international..........Real Madrid player who has played alongside some of the worlds best and not looked out of place. The same Isco who has struggled for consistent playing time and has never played a premier league game. People underestimate the intensity at which games are played. Playing against Elche really does not come close to how physically different it can be against say Hull or burnley. Can he stand out in the premierleague immediately or will it take time??
Will the fans give him time if that were the case or would they write him off like Sissoko, and before him Lamela?
And Bruma.......another flavour of the month player who we desparately need because well hes the new shiny johnny foreigner that has been linked via the media, youtubed and oh my god he is sensational. Again there are no guarantees.

I tend to look at similar players who have from a league and how they have perfomed will give you a good idea how a player might do. So I look at Mata, Silva, Carzola who have been big successes... and Paedro and Navas have been useful so I would say Isco could be very good in our league

I'd keep an eye on Paedro.

Is that the same paedro who has been quite unsung in how well hes playing for the team at the of the league?
Really my point is that all buys, foreign and domestic come with an unknown level of risk.
Some players look excellent for a team such as middlesbrough, swansea etc. Maybe they are above the level of the players around them.
When going to a bigger team with better players they no longer stand out from the crowd and some players cant handle that.
This can also work the other way round with a decent player from a good team going to a perceived smaller club. The pressure of expectation drowns some.

Isco would not be coming to a bigger club so don`t think pressure comes into it. Any player is a risk especially if you have no idea how to use them like we did with Soldado but I think Isco would do well for us in one of the three positions behind the striker a would give us another option.

Let's not do it to ourselves. The last time we brought in this kind of established quality I had hair and a busier todger

Our first 11 needs strengthening to compete and this is where we're constantly going to struggle until we're in a position to spend big on wages and fees.

If you look at the top 4 plus Utd and compare the 3 that we play behind Harry to what they have, they're all a lot stronger than us. On their day any one of ours can be brilliant but the level and threat is lesser than what the other teams have to offer.

We're in a difficult position because of the level we're at, we need to invest heavily to strengthen what we've got, but aren't able too. You can land a Dele or Coutinho once in a while but you can't solely rely on taking chances on potential gems without realising that they're not all going work out and they'll certainly need time.

As a result it makes consistently challenging very difficult.

might as well post this here as well:
moussa on coys: I can confirm from a separate source that I also heard about Nike being stadium sponsors. The deal was supposed to be completed this Friday but it may have stalled due to a last minute change of terms (I wont say from who but I'm sure you can work it out). Sounds like its v close though!

i recall moussa having itk previously but not what it was and what came of it.

for more context head over to the stadium thread

ali z on jan window: Passing on what I know, Poch would like 2 player sin creative player and fast player both to bring goals and allow for more roation, problem is salaries are real issue when bringing in players better than we have. He thinks Kane, Alli, Son and Dier all need some rest as have been overplayed in last 18 months but does not think he can as we don't have enough players of quality to bring in. Nothing expected but they are trying am told unlikely unless it's a Bruma style signing ( lot of competition) ...Poch concerned about burnout/fatigue impacting heavily if we do not get a few additions to freshen things up.

Interesting to hear, as I firmly belive Kane, Dier Alli especially are feeling burn out, great season then rushed into the England setup where most have also been playing plus the qualifiers and the Euros last summer, those guys are still very young and still only the very begining of their careers, plus adding in the media fest on these guys too, makes alot of sense!! Fast player we have nkandou but doesnt really play bar 10/20 mins, i think he should be utlized much more and also we have lamela to com back which will be a big player coming back so hopefully helps a tad!

cheers for passing on Dov!!!!!!!

And there goes the challenge for the board. Needs to be overly addressed to keep our gaffer happy from the sound of things.
