Told this morning we are definitely looking to add to the first team squad this window. MP only interested though in players that he feels can make an immediate impact. Read into that however you like, but IMO that rules out an awful lot of players that we will be linked with in the next few weeks., considering how Poch likes to bed in younger foreign players who are not used to the league.

Would love us to get Zaha. As skillfull and creative as Eriksen, Lamela, Son and Alli are, they aren't going to burn players with pace or bulldoze through to create goals and chances.
Atm the only ones in our squad that can do that are our Walker and Sissoko and neither of them are going to score loads of goals.
Zaha would give us that extra dimension, that pace and strength that really frightens FBs. Like Sissoko did against ManU when he came on last week, but with more skill, more creativity, better passing etc.
It's what we've been crying out for.

I take this to mean Barkley. Contract running out, used to the league and high potential.

Seems to support the links to players like Zaha and Barkley. Not sure about the latter if I'm honest, but there's clearly huge ability there and potential to be very good in this league. I also can't see us spending 60 odd million to sign them both in Jan.
Zaha is the one I'd like us to get. He's the definition of a direct winger. Young and english as well and the closest we have to him currently style wise is GKN and he's still quite raw. Makes a lot of sense if we can get it done.

Sounds like we have been burned one too many times with our recent signings from outside of the Premier League. GKN and Vincent haven't really made any sort of impact and whilst they still have time, it appears that Poch has lost patience with these kind of signings and would much rather us buy from within the league.

My caveat to anyone getting remotely excited about this is to say that there's a difference between 'targeting' players and actually buying them.
It feels like we've been 'targeting' them for the last 400 windows before buying a kid or someone who needs ages to adapt.
So, you know, a quarry of salt and all that...

Clubs won't sell and if they do they'll want eye watering prices which we won't pay. Knowing our luck we'll end up with the next Etherington, Jan Vertonghen lookalike Marc Albrighton lol

Assuming he'd be for the summer. A young winger playing in Turkey doesnt really match up with Trix's info.
Also, I love how we constantly look at young wingers yet dont use the ones we already have/get rid of them. Either Poch doesnt know what he wants or our scouting department is utterly useless. Sold Lennon and Townsend. Got rid of N'Jie after barely playing him. Rarely play GKN.

ali z again on zaha and sissoko : As far as I understand it they refused all bids and told us to go away , they were not selling and player wanted to come of course if we paid over the odds 35 - 40 m prehaps we could have got him, as for Sissoko I am going to say this again it is not 30 m it could rise to 30 m but we it won't.
