I like Berahino but not as a lone front man. I'd only want us to sign him if we're gonna switch to 2 up front and if we did, Kane should be getting the nod first and foremost unless we planned to pair Kane and Berahino, which could be kinda cool.

Poch got the best out of Ricki Lambert and as posted previously we arguably need a player in that mould.

I still think that Bony or Benteke are the most viable options for us to try and buy in respect of a striker.

No player has scored more goals in the prem in 2014 than Bony. Swansea are a club we can do a deal with and they have a replacement in Gomis. If we can loop Naughton into a deal then it potentially makes it easier to do.

Bony wants to play for a bigger club and whilst Swansea may be above us right now, he'll know full well that long term we are a good option for him.

Benteke I'm less sure about as he blew us out once before by signing a new deal at Villa and he's seemingly injury prone.

Someone who can play lone striker, is a proven EPL scorer, who has a proven great partnership with Harry Kane, who is strong, quick, skilful and can head the ball is someone we don't need?

I would only take Benteke as a gift. He is at the right club. He could have got a move last year but turned it down for a pay rise-no ambition.

And we start with a song……...We didn't start the Fire

Daniel Levy, Poch today, Ryan Mason, ITK
North London, New Ground, Oh where will we go
Fans unhappy, they all shout, ENIC in, ENIC out
It's all the same, Harry Kane, We know Loris will go

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
We see ENIC earning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

Gareth Bale, Real Madrid, Spurs earned a few quid
Spending spree, fans glee, it all got spunked, fuck me
Lazy players, Oh my god, now we got, Shitty squad
Who's to blame, Levys cough, no it's not, Who's the DOF

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
We see ENIC earning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

Now its time, EyeTeeKay, Just what will they have to say
He's in, He's out, Sixteen DOF's, sort it out
Bald ****, Stunted Dwarf, has his time run its course
Devil you know, but of course, Time to flog a different horse
Lose at home, yet again, Fans that Boo, White Hart pain
Volume up, drown them out, Just in case, Levy out

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
We see ENIC earning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

Laters. Be good. :D
Haha!

I only just noticed this. Where were you early hours this morning?

Bony is a standout option among those players who are within our range and currently playing in the premiership. He's certainly the right type of striker and would fit in nicely with Kane playing as a no. 10. Downsides are the price (circa £20M) which will be a problem for Levy and the fact that he'll be missing during the ACN. He's also just signed a new contract.

During the international break the Belgium lads mentioned the need for clear the air talks.

This war among players is long overdue and if managed well could create the team ethos that is clearly missing.
You have hit the nail on your finger with the hammer in a nutshell!
We have some great players IMO but we ain't got a team!

I actually preferred the inital ITK. At least it was a line in the sand. There is obviously something wrong behind the scenes and the intial ITK put some meat on the bones, whether made up or not.

I reckon JJ said he hadn't heard anything and then, following that, some new ITK appeared that said it was all rubbish.

This gossip and scandel is the highlight of the season thus far. The Archway fire is the icing on the cake.

What's next?

I'm not so sure about that fellas. There was some ITK awhile back from Trix I believe that said we were very close to signing him and that he wanted to come badly, that he was even at the training center ready to go, but that AVB pulled the ripcord last second because he preferred Soldado. There were also multiple eye-witness accounts of people seeing him there at the center, and as you may remember at the time there was a video doing the rounds of Villa fans begging him to stay, asking him about Spurs, and him grinning ear to ear when they asked him if that was where he wanted to go. And finally, you really believe a Belgian player would choose to stay at Villa over getting a move to a side that had only missed fourth by a point and had three other Belgian internationals on the books at that point? Seemed much too strange.

Why?

Leaving aside the stuff about the dressing-room ruck for a moment, all the rest of that post was lifted from ITK or media stuff we've heard already; the Mitchell info was a précis of a Jason Burt piece that appeared in Saturday's Torygraph.

Do people think that it would really take a fortnight for rumours of a major post-match dust-up to leak out?

EDIT:

SS57 sees WTF? rating.

SS57 checks post to see if he made it in Mandarin in error.

SS57 finds he didn't.

SS57 wonders if it's possible to WTF? a WTF?

So you think there is no connection between the "ITK" and Kaboul and Capoue not even making the bench. I am assuming Adebayor wouldn't have played because of his late return from an international match.

You make a compelling argument sir :)

If I could pick my perfect (vaguely realistic) strike force right now, it would be:

Sell Soldado
Sell Ade

Keep Kane
Buy Bony
Buy Berahino or Mitrovic

Rotate those 3. Chadli is arguably a support striker that could play off Bony if Kane got injured. Berahino and Mitrovic are both young and can develop. The latter could become a superstar.

Well the lineup for the Europa league game has suddenly become fucking interesting hasnt it.

Will the Captain and Vice captain be making an appearance now they have been conquered.

I find it very easy to believe that that little clique got too big for their boots. Love the idea that the Spurs boys in the squad took them down a notch.

Why look beyond Kaboul's poor form for virtually the whole season (and last, while we're at it)? After a decent start, Capoue's been poor over the last few games.

Much of the information is simply lifted from other sources. That alone makes me suspect the veracity of the rest.

Six years ago rumours of the ructions at Ramos' supposedly happy and united Spanish training camp emerged very quickly. Stories of the players' reaction to Jol's sacking—which flatly contradicted the party Iine that he'd lost the dressing room—also made it on to here and into the media within hours. I simply don't believe that it would have been possible to keep a lid on a serious bust-up within the squad for a whole fortnight—which isn't to say I think there are no problems. Obviously things aren't all hunky-dory. However, this story seems just a little too calculated to appeal to the majority conception of who are the bad guys and the good guys. Spin it slightly differently, and it could also be used to show Pochettino's leadership in a very bad light indeed—bad choice of captain and vice-captain, allowing (and even encouraging) factions within the squad—and so on.
