Quite interesting that Leandro didn't play for International last night.

Travelling back from the Brazil game may have caused this, but worth noting that Neymar did play for Santos.

Then I can't see Leandro coming ;) automatic starter for Brazil, golden boot at the Olympics, I would be shocked if he didn't demand #1 status
HE would but maybe not straight away

I mean Sandro took a period of adjustment, isn't the brazil season run at different times to ours? surely that would impact on his fitness and form, plus he had no rest period what with the summer olympics and would need a period of adjustment time to adapt to a new country, new club, new language, being away from his home/family/friends etc

I think he's a perfect signing to bring in along side an initial automatic starter like Adebayor as he would probably benefit from a relatively slow introduction with sub appearances and rotations as he acclimatised to his surroundings and came good ready to challenge for the number one spot which would see them bringing the best out of one another.

Plus I think we as Spurs fans are a little over hung up on starting places due to our pervious regime and the notion of squad rotation being so very alien to us. The fact is there are plenty of games and plenty of mins in games for all players to get enough football and enough rest to stay match fit, sharp and fresh respectively.

Sir Alex is the best in the business after all and you don't see him worrying about bringing in RVP in addition to Rooney, Wellbeck and several other strikers who would no doubt expect to be starters. Squads win leagues not starting 11s

Presuming Ade doesn't sign in the next 20 minutes (by 'this weekend' I meant in time to play) I want to issue a full and frank apology for stating earlier in the week that we would definitely have a striker by the weekend. I'm not a WUM, I'm a genuine spurs fan and I'm just as irritated and annoyed as the rest of you that this is yet to be completed. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE the deal WAS effectively done, we had acceptable terms for all parties and it was just down to us to rubber stamp it, so to hazard a guess we probably have something else lined up now, its how we work.

Really sorry again,it would appear that I made the age-old error of speaking too soon. Hopefully some good news soon.

Did Neymar play or was he even in the squad for the Sweden game?

Don't sweat it mate. We all know that you are just passing info on in good faith. Things change all the time in transfers and there seems to be more than the normal 'transfer issues' with a deal to sign Ade. Lots of others have also been advised that Ade has been 'done' and can't quite understand the hold up!

I was just wondering why POTL was saying Sandro was a good lad and helpful - then I came into this here thread and summised he's been working on Leandro lol.

I get there eventually.

The way I see it is this:

We are after 1 striker as because of our formation we'll only be able to make 1 happy (unless we get a younger one).
So, It's one of Adebayor/Llorente (we can afford him, whether he wants to come is a different matter)/Leandro.

That's all very well but we shouldn't have released Saha if we were only planning to bring in one striker because we'd be one injury away from big problems.

there are a lot of people on this forum who don't understand this though ;)

Take a couple of the subs out of your line up ;)
Because...
1) they are off to Wham and Liverpool?
2) they are needed in the starting eleven?
3) they are injured?
4) they are crap
Is there actually a cohesive plan to all this (I'm picturing a colour-coded flow chart on Levy's wall that is in clear view of a window so that ITKs can wander past and take a gander).

No need for apologies rebrab! Always good to get insights into what is going on at the club.

Ade wouldn't have played against Newcastle anyway (for numerous reasons I imagine) so it's good to hear that the deal is ready to be rubber stamped, but that Levy is holding back whilst he tries one last time for someone like Llorente.

Fuck you Rebrab! You have ruined my life! I have tatooed my face with the words 'we'll have a striker before Saturday' because I was so confident in your words...and you don't want to see what I've done to my wanger.

You have disgraced yourself, your family and every Spurs fan who has ever lived.

You are not my friend anymore.

So Sandro has convinced Leandro to join, lets hope this one is concluded now.

Moutinho is most likely to replace Modric.

Adebayor will be done eventually.

So nothing really new, still waiting as usual. These drawn out transfers really are a nightmare. If we do sign these 3 however i'll be very confident for this season.

I'm almost 35!

I don’t believe in God, the prime minister or the treasurer - I believe in football.
The first love, the first kiss,

My heart beats faster only the names are mentioned, Leeds United, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham – My only religion

Every Saturday we dreamt about grass, wet grass, dry grass, grass with frost, green grass – it didn’t matter what kind, as long as it was English grass!

Every Saturday heroes came out on the grass – Clive Allen, Glenn Hoddle, Chris Waddle, Jurgen Klinsmann and my favorite David Ginola.
Football was a simple language - before fast cars, big money and the Glazer family, before the VIP stands and Posh Spice.

Commentators could be gone without a trace - until they showed up again next Saturday.

The ball could disappear in the mist. The players were toothless, often with huge sideburns. Football boots stuck in mud - it did matter - it was love

I am almost 35, Governments come and go, girlfriends come and go, marriage can creak and slam the doors - This love will stay!

Love after 22 pair of football boots - arising from the changing rooms, through the tunnel onto the pitch, onto English grass - to write poetry - with their feet.

-Written by Frode Grytten (Norwegian poet), translated and modified by me-

Only One Day Left! No matter who comes or goes - I still love Tottenham

Believe and stay positive :)
