What a stupid thing to say. Sorry. If we'd beaten Sunderland away or any other team we drew against. Yet you pick Manchester United away (where we've won fuck all) and the League Champions at home.

Sorry to pick on you, but this sort of talk spreads into people's heads like a common cold.

I don't suffer colds gladly.

Quite a tricky fixture most of the time, I'll give you a better one - Norwich at home would of sufficed.

in other words levy has fucked up another deal by being a tight twat! im actually starting to feel sorry for harry now.

This is what i thought to, that one deal recently collapsed due to to Daniel haggling to the point they walked away. Hope im wrong though!

I think we'll start slowly and improve.

Missing Modric, Parker/Sandro, VDV and Adebayor from the off tonight was tough.

Sandro & VDV should be back next week. I'm still hopeful an Ade or Ade type will be too. Modric will not be playing.

Verts was a big plus tonight. Sig won't have the same overall impact as VDV but he's useful.

Modric is a problem but one that can't be resolved until he's either sold or the window closes - we shouldn't sell him for less than he's worth just as we can't afford to pay over the odds for who we want.

It's hugely frustrating but it's where we are as a club - we have to hope that at least we have a striker by next week with the rest to follow...

Agree Steve, but the sale of Modric shouldn't affect our ability to get a forward or two though should it?

Indeed. The point made though.

And, if Robben had done the decent thing we'd probably be preparing for our CL playoff game with Harry still in charge.

The ITK thread is actually a mild version of the panic setting in. On COYS there are people saying AVB should walk now before his reputation is completely ruined... We've not played a single competitive game and people want our manager to walk.
There is another way of looking at it - people are not basing their concerns on ITK alone but also on the evidence of their own eyes and the last few transfer windows. The last snippet from JJ (who is acknowledged as a reasonable source of good info) supports that stance. We are seeing no delivery of end result and all the evidence suggests we are back to the DL negotiation black hole . I have tried to keep level headed on this but am finding it difficult to escape the conclusion that either DL's ego or his prioritisation of money over football is a major problem in moving us forward as a football club. Would love to be proved wrong, but after a while rational behaviour says you look at the visible evidence. Just like the COYS posters I feel sorry for AVB if that is the case

the point I was making was that every point is vital when chasing a CL position and we seem to write off the first few games whilst we naff about during pre season, once the season has started the cards are dealt and we have to work with what we have and the frustration is exacerbated by the fact I believe Levy will come good by 31st August but only after dropping valuable points

Yeah exactly, although I think Harry was gone regardless - a new vision for the future etc (just my opinion though)

Well now, whatever happens. If AVB is given a lopsided squad to go into the season with, DL and the other high-ups will just have to suck it up. No getting itchy trigger fingers, even if the natives do get restless and the results aren't exactly great.

Disagree with this, Stoof. Looking back it was obvious Harry was gone irregardless of Champions League or not. The man himself says so.

@jetsetyid can't believe how poor our preparation has been with a new manager. All of pre season with no strikers is criminal.

The original JJetset@jetsetyid
@GarethOasis New manager is not happy!!!
I'm sorry but how would he know that. We were being informed only days ago to be patient, everything is in hand, Levy knows what he's doing, etc. Now we are being told the new manager is not happy after a preseason defeat. Seriously itk has to be taken with a lorry load of salt. Some of the over reactions on here after tweets is unreal......

We need strikers and I trust both Villas-Boas and Levy to identify the right man and bring him in. when you consider average strikers like Fletcher are being touted for around £12-14m you can then see why it's difficult to get the right man. Lets be patient and trust the men in charge.....

But we're worrying about a hypothetical, surely mate?

Let's just wait and see what happens. Hearts will last for longer!

I was being very tongue-in-cheek. Sorry that doesn't come across.

You should take everything harry says with a pinch of salt. He's not the most consistent when talking to the press.

Remember that DL has other things on his mind at the moment and may not be on top of his game.

Also, I think some of you are spending too much time in here - your cycles are synchronising!

Think this is bang on. One thing is for sure, I'll be giving the guy a lot of latitude if he starts the season with this squad.

The problem lies within twitter. Gone are the days where an ITK posted decent info that included targets etc, now all we get is "Stay positive we have got this" or "I am worried, things are going badly." All we get is a positive or negative opinion and no actual info.
