S-day maybe? It´s national holliday in Sweden today. Let´s hope we can keep Toivonen in the Dutch league, he´s really bad.

I have been follwing 3 potential transfers last week

Kagawa Hazard & Vertonghen

Guess which one is still up in the air

I agree it's frustrating, but we don't know how long the other two transfers dragged on for. Chelsea and Man Utd may have ITK from months ago on those two.

That's the thing. In years past, we would not have known details until it was announced. I guess these things do take time...

I just don't see us doing anything transfer wise until the managerial situation is sorted. We need something concrete on that side of things as soon as possible (not easy in the current circumstances I know) and until then I don't think we'll see any transfers either in or out.

I agree.

I expect the manager situation to be sorted early next week.

Great round up A&C as usual. Can't see why the club want to announce a double signing surely little and often is more appealing to us fans?

I have decided that today i'm going to be bearish.

The negotiations regarding Vertonghen are expected to drag on for at least two more transfer windows which is why Nelsen is being offered an extra year.

We are currently opening negotiations with three more players which we hope to sign in time for the 2014-15 season, meanwhile, we will sign several 32-37 yr old has-beens, who cannot believe their luck, after an estimated 30 seconds of negotiations.

I know the above probably isn't accurate, but if i'd posted it two years ago you'd be throwing roses in my path as I walked along, hailing me as an ITK god and offering me free use of your wives. One or two of you would probably PM me asking to sleep with me. Again.

The argument that we hear about things earlier because of ITK and that's why it takes so long doesn't work when the guy has spent the last month begging to come in the media!!!

I agree. Vertonghen might be a little reluctant to sign up until he knows who the manager is. I can imagine it now...

"Welcome to Tottenham, Jan. Allow me to introduce you to our new (caretaker) manager."

"Pleased to meet you Mr Vin Gremlin, my name's David Pleat..."

If I were a young international player with no PL experience, i would be more worried to sign under redknapp than under any other manager.

I didn't realise players saying they want to join a team should make a transfer happen quicker. Players say all sorts of shit in the media about which team they would like to play for in the future, why they deserve to start every week, blah. The ITK we get gives (more often that not) some genuine insight as to what's happening - ie haggling over cash, medicals, etc. These are what hold transfers up...

So... which ITK is going to proclaim that Vertonghen is "signing today - announced today" etc - one is going to be right eventually, probably! Is today the day? We've already had two or three "today's the day" snippers of info...

Re Klinsmann - would make a great DoF, but he's certainly not a coach.

Won't leave the US though anyway.

Agree.

The one reason I can see us deliberately stalling on Verts is so he doesn't get labelled the old manager's signing.

If Redknapp is staying though, Collecott, Mills or Watts are able and capable of completing the deal in Levy's absence.

"Think this week a deal will be agreed for Vertonghen" (via AjaxShowTime)

"The agent of Jan Vertonghen, Mustapha Nakhli, says in Voetbal International that he thinks this week an agreement between Ajax and Tottenham Hotspur will be reached for the Belgian captain.

'Jan is waiting. If everything is agreed, he'll go to Tottenham. An appointment is being made quickly. I hope it's done this week, I think it will be. We talk in any case only with Tottenham. Jan has a good feeling. There were also other possibilities, but Jan follows his heart. At Spurs he sees more prospects than other clubs ', says Nakhli."

POTL posted again in the Vertonghen-thread:

Yee of little faith.
