Come on, we all know how this ends!

My tip is to expect nothing, and if we get a surprise just enjoy it!

Whatever you do, do not set out expecting us to sign 2 top class players. We've been here too often before, I refuse to get my hopes up this time!

(fast forward to me tomorrow... :nailbiting:)

I'd take Austin over nowt without doubt but it makes you wonder, all the strikers out there but we can't get one over the line, I agree with not buying for the sake of it but that's when you've got options already but having one striker this late in the window is baffling!!

Austin at right price would be a good buy and would give WBA something to think about as their star striker will be worth a lot less in January. I want both.

We seem to have a decent relationship with QPR so a lastminute buy of Austin could easily be done. We could probably lend them Winks or Onomah until January as well.

That said I think SB will still be likely.

It all feels a little chaotic. I hope things are considerably more focused at Tottenham Towers than the scattergun approach we appear to be taking on transfer targets.

So unlike us as well. :woot:

Berahinho won't happen imo so I just pray we have a back-up.

That's the thing though who are all the strikers that are out there that are either a.available or b.acheivable ?

There are a lot worse than Austin out there and the boys available and at a reasonable price and he scores goals AND he will have players like erikson son and co around him it really isn't that bad a idea to bring him here if you take a deep breath and think it through :)

Southampton have just slammed the door in our face yet again. We have now dropped all interest in Wanyama. Saints are willing to sell but not to a premier league rival. If he moves, he moves abroad, and that's it.

Leaves plenty of time to get the Witsel deal done. As on SSN we have made a bid for the player, which from what I've just heard will be accepted. It's just a case of then agreeing terms with the player and getting him signed.

On a side note, we are not interested in Charlie Austin.

In our defence it was posted before there was any ITK on him,
Chill out Lao....JJs still positive!!

Not a defense for me. Some people are far too quick to label other posters idiots etc just because they don't like what they have to say it or it goes against the happy clappy positive brigade.

Austin again? Time and time again ITK's have said we are NOT interested in signing him. If you really have to, tell the world that you want him from the pulpit of that players thread, not in here because its a complete waste of time not to mention mind numbingly boring.

Cheers for the info. Hopefully his Belgian buddies convince him to sign up.

You have indeed!

Eggy faces galore if it happens (or even if it doesn't given now officially linked my ITK!)
Yep. Im not too upset about it either. The guy can score. He's done it all the way from non league to the premier league. Not sure why everyone is so against it here?

er, let me think it over. oh yeah, its the bloke whos noticed that one might well be cheaper than the other. evening all. martials price tag seems to have gone up a bit!
But surely the fact that he is plan b suggests that the fee isn't an issue and as such plays no part in how they were prioritised? Regardless, seems he's off the agenda now thankfully.

Tbf one of the latest talking points was ITK saying that we were now interested...

I don't know either. I've assumed it's something to do with his character which I don't know anything about

id be ok with austinho since i wanted us to do what poch evidently asked and sign league ready players. bera remains far and away the better choice though i too think jjs ok and covered points to the former not latter. if time allows they might bend over a little if we send them carroll or praps winks on loan. 8m plus 2 addons and tommy boy. we can the partex him for bera next summer.
