What we are doing is exactly how I play my championship manager game

So that's why we aren't winning games.... ;)

I know what you mean, though it's the same every window, half the links are probably bs and the other half we probably do have interest but the price or wages are to high.

Charlie Austin anyone? Would be a useful back up to Kane if SB not a goer - just my humble opinion

Cough cough everyone who spammed this ^^

Ali Z:Sigh hear we have asked to be kept uptodate on Austin.Things can change very quickly in the next 24 hours as clubs get desperate, agents on phone hawking players, we are working hard to get 2 in and 4 out but it's against the clock, seriously annoyed that we have 1 cf at the club and a young ch playing dm.
on lennon: We would deal with West Ham but on our terms not there's they wanted Ade very cheaply in Jan - no deal. If they offered an acceptable deal it would have happened.

Agree with the jist of the DM being less of a priority now. Was 100% of the opinion it was when schneiderlin was possible but now due the growth of Dier and the lesser suited options I have to say if we had to make one of the transfers it would have to be Berahino. We are way short at ST.

If Mystery is correct and Witsel is plan B to Wanyama as plan A, who the bleeding hell is drawing up our strategies???

Re ITK at the end of the window.

It's worth bearing in mind that the situation is very fluid/volatile at this business end of the window; players who were previously unavailable suddenly come onto the market and the same the other way around. It is the reason, after all, that we wait until this time to do a good proportion of our business.

In other words info given in good faith really is a snapshot now, and with a very limited shelf-life. So, more than ever, no wrist slitting or premature euphoria!

Also suggests the idea of a clear plan can be somewhat debunked.. waiting until squeaky bum time to see who becomes available doesn't sound exactly like a club pulling in a unified direction. Not that we haven't invested in decent players so far.

If SCBC are shut for business, then pursuing Wanyama could only be a move destined for the pile marked Moutinho surely..

I'm sticking with JJ's ITK. His track record speaks for itself. I suggest others due the same instead getting caught up in every bit that comes out.

I'm starting to think that Charlie Austin might be a decent option and that Poch could turn him into a 2013 Rickie Lambert type player.

Charlie Austin? When I posted about being with his mate in Spain 3 weeks ago and that he said Charie had been in talks with us for awhile everyone laughed. He said then there was definite interest from both sides of the fence.

All this talk about DMs and CFs. Is everyone happy with the defence? I'm not. We've bought three players and looks as shaky as ever at the back. Look at the panic against Stoke and Everton when their players got between our CBs and FBs. We either need better players of a lot better training of those we have.

I'd take Austin over nowt without doubt but it makes you wonder, all the strikers out there but we can't get one over the line, I agree with not buying for the sake of it but that's when you've got options already but having one striker this late in the window is baffling!!

Found this site this year, excellent, donation sent...
Austin imo would be a good addition for Kane's rest days and perhaps for us to play two up front or even Kane as a no. 10 .
Tomorrow is going to be interesting ..
