Thanks for the info lads, always appreciated. I’m not getting sucked in though, I’ve seen this too many times. I’m not excited about this week and my expectations are that we might be lucky to move a couple more out with possible opportunistic loan deal or something coming in. I think it’ll be quiet for incomings and not surprised at all if we are finished on that side of things.
I AM getting sucked in. Despite being somewhere in Northeastern France with my wife's crazy, loud, non-English speaking family. It's a nice crisp morning. Spurs are off to a great start and we just got positive ITK. Consider me sucked.

And for the record, I was on the Ange bandwagon before it was cool.

Fair play to you mate. I must admit I am excited on the Ange part of things and I was dead against the appointment. Let’s hope I’m wrong about the transfer window also 😃 Have a great time in France

Blimey, We get some positive ITK and then two pages of people saying nah don't believe it, well I'm going on record to say I do believe it and I'll tell you why.
The difference this year is that it appears we have a coach who is flexible on a selection of players for the roles he wants and we've done the prelim's and narrowed them down to the best possibilities which makes it a whole lot more likely than under an inflexible coach who wants his number one target and no one else.
Honestly this is different.
There I've said it.

the club wants to do business doesn't mean that the deals would go through

Yeah bang on.

I can seriously see a situation where no one comes in . That's pretty insane

The fact we've bought noone since Kane went is irrelevant as they clearly knew he was going and spent beforehand.

Selling the unwanted players has been the reason we're running late this window, not the buying. I do actually believe if we can clear space in the squad we will buy a couple more players to take us closer to where we want to be.

I'm genuinely surprised though that we have made as much progress in one window as we have. I think most of us looked at the players we had when Ange joined and thought we were several windows away from a squad which would work for him.

It's not perfect, we're not there yet but we're progressing well IMO.

Positive itk. So important we clear the unwanted players out. Been a long-standing problem, so hoping we finally do it.

Multiple transfer windows it has been a blocker to us making all the signings we need/want, but if we finally manage it we'll it should make our life easier both short and long term.

It seems like I’m in the minority but I definitely think we’ll bring 2 more in at least.
There’s some players that are surplus so will go out at least on loan.
And it sounds as though we’ve been negotiating for Brennan Johnson, whether people think he’s good enough is a different matter.

I can definitely see it being a busy week.

That lot together add up to about what we got for Kane. Planning a net spend of zero is not acceptable, and why do you think we’ve managed one permanent sale from the unwanted pile so far??? We should be backing our manager irrespective of outs. We should also be clearing the outs in a realistic way. We’ve got players we can’t even register so will be paying them to do nothing

I think we have left it too late imo and people are trying to spin our business by now using the excuse that we have 'spent the Kane money already." We have also been here many times before and usually know how this ends...but...Im willing to remain optimistic and hope we bring 1-2 more in.

However, it also depends on the quality of those ins. If we are talking about a player that will come straight into the first 11 and improve us then I will be very happy. Alternatively, if we bring in a player thats only been playing a year of professional football or an average squad filler I will be very disappointed. Lets see how this goes..

But if we've done the prelims on the choices it is obviously more likely than if we're butting a brick wall for the one who's unattainable.
That's my point.
iirc there was itk that some deals are lined up and would go through if we can shift the deadwood, hopefully the deals can be done before deadline

I think it’s because we know we have to shift players before we buy and that hasn’t happened yet. It’s great to hear we are willing to push to make the squad better but with 6 days left including today that really isn’t much time. We have left ourselves with very little margin for error. It’s not about being flexible with targets as we currently can’t bring any targets in. Looking at our track record with such things it’s understandable why fans are feeling somewhat skeptical the required moves will happen. Obviously we are all hoping for the best but shifting 5/6 players and buying 2/3 in such a short period of time would be a monumental task for any club.

I do think that we may have to settle/pay off/ tear up a contract or two. Lloris being the prime contender for this.

ITK is positive though, let's stay optimistic.

It's never doubting the actual poster it's doubting whether the club will follow through with the sentiment of actually backing the manager as history has shown that they don't. Add to the fact we have 6 days to ship out a huge amount of players while also trying to buy players who are likely starters for their clubs or even one of their best players like Orban And properly run clubs don't like selling their best players this late in window as it's bad planning
