He seems to represent a ton of players playing in Argentina's primera division. It could be someone from there that Baldini wants to sign a la Erik Lamela. I'll admit i don't know anything about him; but a player that jumps out to me on that list given his position, age, fee, and stats is Lucas Mugni. He's an AM who plays for Colon and has very similar stats (4 goals in 40) to Lamela when he played for River Plate (4 goals in 36) and was purchased by Roma/Baldini. He's only 21, and his estimated value is in the 2-3 millionish range on transfermarkt. It'd take more than that to get him as transfermarkt isn't reliable when it comes to players outside Europe, but whenever a player has an estimated value of more than 1-1.5ish and they play in a second rate league (like the primera division) or outside Europe it means they've got some skill. Like I said I can't say for sure because i know nothing about him but it's an intriguing posibility.

I reckon it's Banega though. IMO Pastore is too unrealistic for us even now with our increased budget for this window.... Banega seems much more likely to me (when you take fees/wages into account), especially when you factor in that we are looking likely to sign Lamela for the RW position and we still need a playmaking CM. Given he's in Spain he's bound to have a release clause, and if it's like Soldado's it could be a realistic figure for us to pay.

remember there will be a lot of misinformation out there after the Willian cockup!

Good information will be at a premium.

Oscar next?

Pastore is just what we need to knit it all together in that final third... Can't see P$G selling for a loss though.

I don't think they care about that too much to be honest - look at the way City and Chelsea from a few years back moved on players they spent a lot of money on for cheap after they didn't cut it

Just a thought but if it is Banega or Pastore then not only would we get a good player but could help Lamela (hopefully) and Soldado too. There's a bit in Moneyball (IIRC anyway) that talks about how a players transfer success can be determined as much by seemingly small details as having a friend in the country as it is by the players around him. ATM Soldado is our only fluent Spaniard I believe (bar possibly AVB as he seems to be multilingual) getting two players who speak the language might get the best out of all them as they'll have a friend and more importantly their missus' will have somebody to go shoe shopping with. Sandro spoke about how much help Gomes was when he arrived and said how he was hoping to be the same to Paulinho. The Belgians get along too. Not only that but it could help us get more Spaniards/Argentinians in the future.

Just a thought.

Lamela due in tomorrow, Chiriches due on Thursday after Steaua's CL qualifier... that's what was reported...

I read this as Lamela ITK, but the reported part at the end makes me worried. It's in the RO, but before it gets approved, does anybody else who does SO as well, have opinion on whether marc was giving ITK or posting what the papers are saying

Could be Vlad coming in tomorrow or Wednesday and not featuring for Steau?

Lamela ITK makes me happy.

Strikes me as Marcspurs quoting Grey Fox or stating something very similar to his info? Would be lovely jubbly if he had the same info (and a different source) though.

Teach Walker, Daws and Rose Spanish, I'm sure they'd pick it up quickly! :)

If Lamela IS coming tomorrow I hope we have requested a 5 mile no-fly-zone around our training ground and a mobile phone signal scrambler that blocks all calls coming in and out until after he has signed the dotted line.(y)

Anything that comes out of Colon is usually shit.

Pastore is starting for PSG. He won't be going anywhere because the rest of their centre midfield are defensive, bar a young kid called Rabiot and Bodmer who is surplus. They are playing IBRA and Cavani who have mostly got in each others way so far.....
