He seems to represent a ton of players playing in Argentina's primera division. It could be someone from there that Baldini wants to sign a la Erik Lamela. I'll admit i don't know anything about him; but a player that jumps out to me on that list given his position, age, fee, and stats is Lucas Mugni. He's an AM who plays for Colon and has very similar stats (4 goals in 40) to Lamela when he played for River Plate (4 goals in 36) and was purchased by Roma/Baldini. He's only 21, and his estimated value is in the 2-3 millionish range on transfermarkt. It'd take more than that to get him as transfermarkt isn't reliable when it comes to players outside Europe, but whenever a player has an estimated value of more than 1-1.5ish and they play in a second rate league (like the primera division) or outside Europe it means they've got some skill. Like I said I can't say for sure because i know nothing about him but it's an intriguing posibility.

I reckon it's Banega though. IMO Pastore is too unrealistic for us even now with our increased budget for this window.... Banega seems much more likely to me (when you take fees/wages into account), especially when you factor in that we are looking likely to sign Lamela for the RW position and we still need a playmaking CM. Given he's in Spain he's bound to have a release clause, and if it's like Soldado's it could be a realistic figure for us to pay.

Last I heard Banega was out for ages after managing to drive over his own fekkin leg!! Broke it badly I think. That was a year or so ago so not sure if he's back now.

Oh my god can we please stop posting about how medicals scare you/we shouldn't allow phones/you're worried about Chelsea for no reason you just have a bad feeling/lets do everything on a plane/why can't we do deals faster. There are literally hundreds of people saying the same shit as you in the last three days. It isn't original or funny.

We had one deal hijacked because of a scummy club and a scummy agent. Get over it.

I think that was two years back. He played for them 40 times last season and has already played this one.

Not true, he hasn't made their match day squad the last 3 games according to the PSG fan I work with. Seems these rumours are doing the rounds in France that PSG want Bale so he's read.

Well I watched him start in a 2-1 win at Nantes last night. So I will trust my eyes over someone talking arsesweat.

He didn't play well and was subbed for the kid I mentioned.

Ah cool, didn't think it was that long back. Any idea how he's been since returning cos I remember thinking he looked pretty handy before the accident?

But it's true. My point was that Bale is no position to DEMAND anything. He is not THFC and THFC is not him. Having watched us play against Swansea I tru;y don't care if Bale stays. This squad is really gelling quickly. I have a feeling that putting Bale in there would unsettle things. Think about it. Bale was absent ALL preseason. The new guys don't know him, have NEVER played with him, or trained with him for that matter. We are entering a new phase of development and there might not be space for Bale in it. Just like Guardiola who let Ronaldinho and Eto'o go when he started his revolution. Madness right? Wrong.

You're watching with your eyes closed unfortunately. Bale WAS our team last year and our 2 x 1-0 victories thanks to penalties have done nothing to paper over anything, they have been workmanlike, nothing more.

I'm sorry if you want to get all romantic about THFC, I'm sure if you cut yourself you would bleed blue blood like the rest of us blah blah blah, but Bale leaving is going to be monstrous. Bale can demand what he wants because he's one of the best players in the world. It's reality, as unfortunate as it might be.

Are we sure the Journalist heard Simonian? Sure it wasn't simian? Maybe we're talking to Bale and his agent over a cup of PG tips?

Being able to drive over your own leg shows exactly the sort of creative ability in tight spaces we've been missing...

I'd agree but its not just one time! We were in the process of deals for Oscar, Hazard and Mata when Chelsea came in! But rather than bitch about how we are scouting players for Chelsea (ahem...Liverpool fans) we are just being ambitious and outbid by a club with more money and CL football.

Our 5 front men yesterday had only been playing together for a short amount of time and everyone including EVERYONE knows what we need to finish off the puzzle and make things tick better.

Workmanlike the way you have put it across sounds so negative and dirty. That wasn't what I took from it and a lot of others saw positives and are choosing to support that and the club with an upbeat attitude.

It's not romantic it's facts. Give them more than 180 mins and 2 clean sheets in the prem before you get so depressed about it.

Sure, and if we keep trying to make ambitious transfers without being a CL club, we are going to get outbid sometimes. That's just the way it goes. Doesn't mean every other post in the ITK thread needs to be the same bad joke or nervous breakdown.
