Sanchez was announced at 5:15. I think igi swung by around 4ish to give us the head's up.Hopes for a Funtime Friday is fast fading. Surely any announcement would be before 5pm UK time?

Fucking hope not. I don't stop reading through this just because I need a dumpI don't think they clock off when they're close to a deal.
'Fuck it lads, I know we almost agreed after weeks of negotiation but it's a 3 day weekend and I'm off to the local Wetherspoons for 5.10pm!'

The two defining holes in the squad that must be filled if we want to compete for the title and be competitive across four competitions are a dynamic right back and a right wing forward with pace, creativity and end product. Foyth, Gazzaniga and even Barkley are luxury signings who would likely see little playing time this calendar year when we will face a load of difficult fixtures across three competitions (my personal opinion differs from many on Barkley, as his performances dipped massively down the stretch last season for Everton where he had 0 goals and 1 assist in his last 10 EPL matches and his lack of interceptions/tackles per 90 over the last two years doesn't bode well for him supplanting any of our key attackers in a high pressing system [though I'd rather sign him than no one, obviously]).
By the way, for those of you wanting Josh King, go watch his performance from last week against Watford. It was disastrous and showed how completely limited he is as a creative spark for a team. Our attacking midfielders have to be able to create for others and King simply isn't that kind of player. Even if someone holds the view that King is an outstanding striker who will get goals no matter what, why exactly would Bournemouth (0 goals and 0 points through two games) sell him the last days of the window? They're going to be relegation candidates in the most competitive Premier League ever, and they would have no time to properly replace him.
I mean, 3 more signings in less than a week when your chairman in Daniel Levy? That's bold.
Surely the most significant line in Hertyid's ITK is "if the journo is right" which doesn't confirm that he is right, in fact it sounds as though he hasn't heard anything of the sort and may actually be questioning it.
Trying to find out updates against today's negatives. Feed back;
1. PSG to THFC RB still positive. As correctly reported paperwork legal s a bit fuzzy, but he has. Even cleared by the courts. Visa/permits etc, but more complicated than first imagined. If negative we will not be loaning out KWP, which would worry worry for me as I believe Poch may go with Tripps. Not sure if there is a back up.
2. Foyth we all know about,
3. RB we are very confident, and everything absolutely agreed. Chavs have had verbals to top our price by a little distance. But RB has ZERO interest in even reading what have to offer, much less anything else. He is already chatting to some of our players, and can't wait. Everton do not have much scope for us to increase bid. It is believed will go to DLD.
4. JS: I am gutted (if true) as those very, very close expected announcement today. As reports are suggesting, his heart is set on coming here. Asked if filth have rocked the.boat, and reply was 'no way, don't think so'. Whatever it is is between the clubs, and nobody is saying anything yet? So we have to wait.
5. Told RS, we were encouraged y the club to bid, but we verbally did, but not formal. It is my impression he only signed to make sure his club was very well compensated. He only (at this moment) wants to come to us. Waiting 12 months things can change with him.
6. Striker we spent s lot of time on is being a dick-head (Balde), and we moved on. Bournemouth have dropped their asking price for Josh King. We have a choice out of four (including him).
7. There is an outside chance on a player out of Italy I believe. Would possibly be loan with option to buy next season at a price of 40-50m Euros. We have irons in the fire in France and Spain for potential wing forwards that would put us back about 10m at a guess. If the latter happens VJ going nowhere.
Listen up!
Something has come to light which will please the BSoDL. We have a tight promise agreement with the bank, on managing our spend. This goes back 5 years. This is the reason we got finance for the stadium. To keep it silly simple; there are valid reasons for 'net spend'. It is a very careful
balancing act, and I for one have given our Daniel silent stick for the way he deals.
Told next season will see us change this approach, and onwards and upwards.
All of this! yet the only 2 words picked out are Josh King!Poch expects really 4. I feel good, goody, as insiders believe in the bag. This includes back -ups.
He was just Joshing...All of this! yet the only 2 words picked out are Josh King!
Someone mention Weatherspoons? Right I'm up for it......
Edit - genuine question to Rob and all. Why is there no beer drinker emoji?
I think Barkley and Sancho should be switched, but I agree otherwise. So sounds like Foyth, Sancho, Aurier, and maybe Barkley. However WF seems up in the air to me which is a slight concern as it's the second most important signing we need to make after Aurier
There used to be a "pint" emoji
I didn't read it that way, he lists the reasons it isn't being held up for and then says if the journo is right it's some reason he doesn't know, not necessarily agreeing but not denying it outright but you may be right.I think the part he doesn't think is right is that we've decided not to pursue further. But he agrees we are having trouble closing the deal
Why would King be a creative spark when Eriksen, Alli, Son and Dembele all fill that roll for us now?The two defining holes in the squad that must be filled if we want to compete for the title and be competitive across four competitions are a dynamic right back and a right wing forward with pace, creativity and end product.
