There would be pitchforks at dawn if VDV was sold. While it has split opionion, I think selling Dawson can be justified (considering the offer we have recieved ), but selling VDV our talisman would be by most considered a mistake.

I'm gonna miss this thread when Sept 1st kicks in. Though it's been a frustrating pre-season transfer-wise... We've had some comedy gold in this thread! It makes it all worthwhile! Tonight being a great example of that!! Let's hope we have a good season guys!!! Finger's crossed!!!!

Would be a disaster to sell VDV, we need him specially in big games. Also the media shit storm over the potential sale of dawson - just imagine if we sold VDV as well, more ammo for them to hound AVB out with... Surely we won't let it happen?

I mean I can't even get my head around this - taking Modric and VDV out of the side in the same window, our two most creative and intelligent players by a country mile - and to do it at the very end of the window equates to complete fucking madness IMO.

Lets hope its not the case, because that is seriously ripping the quality out of our side in one go despite what new signings come in late on.

Not so sure. It's too big to lose Luka and VDV in one go. Screams of Keane and Berby.

I would. I like VDV but he is a bit of a luxury. No way we would miss him as much as Modric.

He does tend to run out of steam on 70 minutes.

Love Rafa, he is genuine class and i hope this talk of him leaving is nonsense.

He does perform in the big games and has on occasions single handily won us matches.

However i do get the feeling he has an ego on him (like most dutch players) and i can see him kicking up a right stink if he's not selected regularly a la Fat Frank.

I know Villas Boas said he wouldn't change too much too soon, but if VDV isn't in his plans its pointless keeping him.

Didnt seem like JJ thought VdV would leave, no need to get upset yet!

AVB and Levy aint no mugs either, if it comes to us losing both Modric and VdV im sure they have big plans ready.

I doubt we'd sell VDV, and I thought none of the German clubs interested could afford him. He said he's ready for war and AVB said he's counting on him. I think everyone is overreacting a little bit, but if he does go then I'll be extremely pissed as he's easily my favourite player.

Hmm, if there have been rumblings all summer about VDV leaving, why would it then be a shock if he left? It would be more shocking if we sold Parker imo. I know everyone has a price, but it's VDV ffs.
