Interesting development. Can't say I've watched the guy enough to have an opinion about him. But I do imagine with the current financial issues faced by clubs, any reservations around trading between rivals might temporarily be put aside.

We may well be interested in him, but there's absolutely zero chance that they'll ever sell a player to us. They're more likely to just string us along until deadline day and then sell him to Chelsea just so their social media twats can 'banter' about getting one over on us.

Don't get it. If he is not good enough for Arsenal and they are fine to sell how should he be our savior on RB and if we bring him in for rotation what is his point of moving?
Suspicious case.

I don't know anything about him, but my initial instinct was that if he isn't good enough for them, then he ain't good enough for us. That being said, I'm sure City wished they'd never let Sancho go....

City didn't have much of a choice in that one.

The Athletic had a bit of info back in June about him wanting out at the Emptycrate because he doesn't fit in Arteta's plans. Under contract until 2023. I'm not against the move if it comes on the cheap. If Jose sees talent in him then I believe that Jose has forgotten more about football than the combined minds of SC will ever know.
Thanks as always for the info Herc

But it means we'll have to give gooners money. Ugh.

Thanks Herc! Always love your ITK, could have so many meanings.

I'm hoping this one is that DL is going to lead them to think we're going to buy him, they plan all their use of the money they expect to get. DL takes it to the last hour of the window and pulls the plug to then buy someone Danny Rose has to google.

Eitherway, a homegrown utility player would be very welcome, just can't see it coming from them for a reasonable price.

Good for homegrown and hyphenated surname players, which Walker-Peters had cornered the market in.

Not seen enough of him to be honest. Not sure I'd enjoy giving them a few quid to sign Auoar or Partey who are both absolutely quality while we get Mr Utility himself.

If they are in financial trouble, which redundancies tends to hint at I would rather let them rot unless we can really screw them over and get him at an absolute steal for him to then go on and become a top player. He's always reminded me of a young right footed Rose when I've been watching hoping to see them lose.

Thanks Herc.

I've posted a couple of links in the AMN thread.

Basically there were numerous stories in the media 2 weeks ago, stating that Arsenal are ready to sell the player, because they desperately need funds to build a squad capable of competing.

Arteta doesn't want to lose AMN, but the board have overridden him.

Looks like AMN is definitely leaving Arsenal this summer, but to who is anyone's guess.

The worst thing about signing him would be giving them money to strengthen elsewhere.

I'd be against it for that reason alone

He’s HG, young, covers two positions we want more cover for-RB/RWB andCDM . if JM things he can do a job for him we would be cutting our nose off to spite our face if we didn’t buy him because we don’t want to give that lot money. They are going to sell him to someone anyway and use the money to buy someone else so if JM wants him I don’t care if they get the money from us

The same club who didn’t want to give gnabry first team games ... I am confident this could be a good signing if it happens

I'm happy with the ITK. I've always felt Maitland-Niles had a good skillset, but the Gooners had no clue as how to use him. Part of me thinks he will be a homegrown version of what we hoped Gedson would be.
