it does seem that we are saving some cash up (maybe for the big signing we're all after/the new shiny stadium) we all do it to get every once in a while, beats smashing the credit cards up and then struggling to pay it all back.
also i think jj is returning the favour for the itk we got off of the liverpool itk forum about harry.
Why would we be saving up for the big signing, when any big signing would command the big wage Levy will not sanction?
Not enough analysis was made of the reason Redknapp gave as to his departure. The reason given was that the Club were going in a different direction to the one Redknapp thought we should be heading.
Redknapp stated window after window, that we were one or two quality signings away from being a finished product.
That translates to me as one or two big quality signings, finished products.
Levy took the route of DoF...investing in quality youth for the future. We have had success here.
It seems to me, that Levy is restoring, or backing his faith in this modus operandi. Buying young, quality players, an eye n the future, replacing those young quality players already at the Club who will go for big bucks...Bale.
Siggy, Fryers, Holtby....those are the kind of players we'll be prioritising long term. Hughes, Son and Belhanda, players we are showing a keen interest in.
That's not to say we won't see the likes of another Modric, Berbatov or Dembele, because we will, but these are players who we will be buying but before they have hit their full potential...hence why we've been constantly sniffing at Demaio's door. Levy is prepared to wait and play the brinksmanship card on these kind of players, and only when the price is right. He will take a hit on missing out, hence why we play these long winding transfer games such as Vertonghen.
The money is there, to say otherwise is ludicrous and nonsensical, but its not going to go on finished products whose wage command will exceed our pay structure.
