Not itk, but...a journalist from L'Equippe was on talksport this morning and said that the story was probably false at the moment. It depends on what happens to Leandro (edit - got him on the brain, Leonardo!!) and his 9 month ban appeal. This is being heard on the 20th and if it's reduced to 6 months then he will probably still be the manager next season.

However there is a short list but the fans fave is Wenger!

Laurent Blanc quite likely to PSG I heard.

Personally, I'd be sorry to see BAE go. Yes, he can sometimes try to do a little too much with the ball but we have generally played better when he's in the team. The twists and turns he make (which I know can annoy) have often got us out of a tight spot and/or lead to an offensive position for us where other left backs may have gone sideways or backwards.

I also just love the guy.

Interesting article

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892.../tottenhams-153m-guarin-bid-rejected-by-inter

No ITK here reported anything on Guarin , but this Italian fella claims

i) Guarin Bid rejected because - Tottenham's initial bid, which included performance-related add-ons, was to be paid over five years, but Inter are holding out for deal in which they receive the entire fee up front.

ii) Daniel Levy is currently on holiday in Florida until the end of June, so any deal is likely to be put on hold until his return :banghead:

iii) 110,000-a-week offer is being prepared for Villa

LOLZ - no one does this nowadays unless the player is <£5M

The 'oh Daniel!' and 'FFS Levy!' comments show how little some know about the industry. MOST (not all) fees are paid over the length of the contract. It is perfectly normal for a club to structure payments, as the two clubs involved all have outgoings/incomings each month. Paying 15-20m or whatever ends up being up front is INCREDIBLY stupid.

If this bid story is correct then this is Inter trying it on. If it is not correct then it's a convenient reason for a non-story to go nowhere as most people won't know how it works.

Ancelotti is the manager/head coach. Leonardo is the general manager or director of football, whatever they call him. Grand fromage.

Ancelotti is lined up at Real Madrid. Leonardo will be suspended but they will still need a new coach.

But paying up front is the only way you can successfully negotiate a transfer on Football Manager

As of a couple of days ago, Daniel Levy certainly wasn't on holiday in Florida until the end of June. He had been at a conference in Newcastle for and was expected back in London. Happy to explain to the mods how I know our Daniel's whereabouts, if anyone's bothered. Don't believe everything you read.

I'd be sorry to see Benny go too but i could understand it from the clubs point of view. As others have said, I just don't think he is an AVB type of player. He flourished under Harry as he was allowed to just express himself (similar to Ade) and some players need this to perform at their best. He's also nearly 30 and had a poor season.

Problem is, is Rose ready. He certainly thinks he is and I don't think he'll want to stay if he is not first choice. Personally, if we could sell Benny for £7ish I'd love for us to make an attempt to sign Baines (i know it will never happen though and he's probably Utd bound if anywhere).

The biggest problem is these oil rich clubs do pay up front. So its worth the clubs haggling and leaking the stories to try and tempt their money.

You cant do a deal in private anymore

But it is an opportunity to criticise Levy

It is hilarious how bad with money these new rich clubs are. If it is true that they pay up front, with no regard for the time value of money, then I can't wait for their bankruptcy in a few years.

Lol at people rejoicing in any potential news regarding Gylfi being sold. Would be absolutely mad to sell him, still believe he will become a very important player for us once settled in.

In theory, leaked stories can help us as well. They may make clubs think we have a choice between their player and player 'b', which can't hurt when it come to negotiations.

...Having said that we seem to be doing all our negotiations with Inter anyway, so maybe it doesn't help :).
