Hopefully DL is able to account for the factors of the Bale deal other than pure financial ones - it’ll give the whole club a massive boost which can’t be measured in £££.

Time to take a gamble!

On reflection, and without being able to explain my rationale because I’ve confused myself, I think we are actually going to buy two of the cheaper striker options mentioned here. I don’t think the more spectacular options are likely in the least but Jose will be thinking that Kane and Son need to be sparingly used in the cup competitions if we‘re going to seriously go for the league. We will need two decent strikers added to the squad to do that.

Looking at 5 strikers Herc - but how close are we to getting 1 across the line.

Season and fixture pile up starts today - ee need to get 1 over the line.

I guess the way that Levy can justify the expenditure is that it'll probably be a short term deal and he likely comes with no transfer fee or signing fee. I guess the hope is that it doesn't cripple any other plans we have.

Thanks for the updates, id love Bale to come back as much as the next fan but id still prefer we signed a striker, if the Bale deals really stretches us finanically the worry is then do have the budget to still do a striker deal??

There is the issue of the upward drag on wages for everyone else in the squad and anyone else we look to buy who will start to demand more. The sort of issue Scum created with Ozil that creates a difficulty for PEA and United with Sanchez and De Gea.

It’s tolerable if Bale is performing but if not...

BTW I’d love him to come back but only if we are not overcommitted on him as it is an enormous risk given the numbers if you look at it objectively and forget sentiment.

I seem to remember an ITK saying that it won’t be affected if we also sign GB. Which I can see especially if we get him on loan. Not a massive fee upfront if anything.

I'd definitely take Diallo at £15m over £40m for Vinicius if it meant we could get Bale in. Question is whether Jose would, seems from Trix/JJ info he is the clear number 1 choice. Plus no one knows what the actual deal Mendes has on the table for Vinicius actually is.

On Bale I just hope Levy thinks it could raise our profile even further (in terms of potential sponsorships, naming rights and investment) and therefore goes for it.

That lot down the road have survived despite paying Ozil £350k a week and no CL for two years and similar income to us. There probably is headroom there for us but I appreciate it would be a big risk also.

Thanks, @Trix.

I wonder if Mourinho a) actually wants Bale and b) thinks that it's the best use of very limited finances. I'd love him back but not at the expense of other areas of the team that need strengthening - this feels like something Levy wants to personally get done. Maybe they'll let us have Reguilon for cheap if we take Bale off their hands.

Don't blame him Trix, Wikipedia are saying he's 5 foot 9, and Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior (born 12 July 2000), commonly known as Vinícius Júnior or Vinícius Jr (Brazilian Portuguese: [viˈnisjus ˈʒũɲoʁ]),[3] is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Brazil national team.
I wasn't blaming him. Just pointing out there are lots and lots of posts in the Vinicius thread, where posters have a solid opinion of how good/poor he is based on a similar amount of research.

Signing him would be a real coup for the BSoDL who would instantly regain the vast majority of the wobblers.

It'd be a massive PR disaster for those wanting to see the back of Gimli

Not necessarily, he was all set to go to China until Madrid changed the deal at the last moment. That could easily happen again and be spun against levy as it being his fault in some way. So don’t worry, that can still be used against him!

@Rob to avoid comments of people discussing the excitement of their genitals, can we get an eggplant rating widget so people can simply express their arousal at the contents of the ITK with a simple cock click of a button?

Agree with others in this thread going for the cheaper Diallo with more money for GB is the way. GB will bring his brand with him shirt sales will go through roof bit like the Alex Morgan deal will raise our profile World wide even more and more dosh for the bald 1
