Has'nt it sunk in with them yet that this is the only way it will work, muppets

Assuming Levy has told them our price (£X), he should just set up a phone number for them to call. An automated computer voioce could say, "Thank you for contacting us, please enter your latest bid for Harry Kane using the key pad on your phone". Then if the number is smaller than X the automated voice says "Computer says no" and the call is dropped. If it matches (or exceeds) our price they are connected to Levy's mobile.

Great bit of ITK already today.

Feeling today maybe busy.

According to Dan P on Twitter, Kane’s due to join the squad tomorrow, providing he passes his Covid test, so perhaps timely City have gone back in.

It’s no coincidence that it’s his last day of isolation. No point bidding for a player that is in lockdown.

****s arent they, right up there with Chelski imo
Yes.

Look he's a world class player, there is no doubt about that. He is however 28 and has real injury concerns. We could hold him and sell next season for less than we will get now, or we could sell buy 2 quality up and coming forwards and a quality CB or CM with what is left.

If it wasn't for his ankles I'd be against it, but we all know they've kept him out for extended periods on multiple occasions already, and the issues aren't fixable with surgery etc.

My personal opinion is that we have a new manager, new DOF and a full on squad rebuild ongoing. I'd rather do as much as possible in one window and have them all settling in asap. Rebuilds are always painful, and I'd rather do it quick. Like a plaster just rip it off and be done with it rather than prolonging the pain over a couple of seasons.

One thing I would say though is I 100% would not be interested in him ever coming back if he goes.

What's this one I missed it?

Basically a cryptic was posted on their forum yesterday that alluded to the song “Coming around again.” By Carly Simon. It’s a few pages back on the Kane thread on here.

Either way, it was obvious they‘d come back in for another nibble. I suppose it just depends on what they are offering this time.

Absolutely agree with this and I think another important part is that it seems the club have identified 2 forward talents who look like they can do the job needed and our chance to get them looks like it will be in this window and this window only.

It also seems that having 120 mill (for example) in the coffers this summer will be able to significantly better business than 120 mill next summer.

Exactly my view as well. Lot of water under the bridge. Some will say, why sell him to PL rivals - but then we arent rivals , are we ?
This is buyers market. If Kane, a academy product can be sold for 150m - that will go a long way in getting some of the players usually we cant from clubs who need money. Its not like we have been winning trophy after trophy. So, nothing to lose everything to gain. As long as City offer fair price (they set the benchmark with Grealish), we should take it & run and rebuild

I'm in the prefer to sell now camp, for the right price obviously. In fact even if it is slightly less there is more value in the market right now due to clubs finances. Next summer after having fans back in the stadiums I'm not sure clubs will be as desperate for cash

Ties in with that Carly Simon nonsense from their forum too.

Thought that meant we were signing Neil Young. Then I realised it probably wasn’t about him. ?

I would love to see the back of Kane ASAP, personally. I have no warm feelings toward him and that won’t change.

Anyone think it's a bit odd that we're suddenly being linked to so many CM/DMs?

I would've thought that between Hojbjerg and Skipp we had DM covered, while we have Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Winks scrapping for the other 2 CM spots (along with one of Skipp/Hojbjerg too).

Unless Nuno doesn't trust Skipp or we're planning to flog Ndombele, it seems like we're actually OK in that area and would be better off spending money elsewhere. It's not like the names we're being linked to are groundbreaking talents, either.
I think we’re right to be looking at strengthening the midfield. Skipp is green, Ndombele a risk, Winks is back up at best, Dele likely to be found out in CM and Lo Celso while quality has been fragile. Definitely need more options here.

JWP certainly fits the bill and will bring something unique we dont have in squad

But, 4 years left in his deal at Saints - I cant see how this could happen. This is probably a smokescreen for another CM target

Only just caught up with Trix's ITK.

Ok, so as with every player we are linked with via the media I shoot a few messages off to see if anyone has heard anything, and it was quite positive for both LM and ML.

Sorry for being dense but who is ML?

With regards the CM/DM situation... How much longer do we have to wait for Ndombele and Lo Celso to reach close to their potential, you could argue both have regressed since joining.

Skipp has the potential, so would not want to see someone get ahead of him who is only a small upgrade.

PEH is good, but Top 4 good?

So definitely sensible looking to strengthen, but lets ensure they are of sufficient quality. All the links so far don't seem much of an upgrade to me.

I agree with this fully, however I'm probably a bit different in that I'd be more than willing to sell at 130/140 to get this done and not the 160/180 figure that others say is the minimum they will take...reason being just to get this rebuild going and have 2 strikers with a good season and experience under their belt so next season they should be ready to hit the ground running.

Be interesting to see if City have put their big boy pants on this time around, and actually come in with a serious offer.

I kinda hope they do, I've had enough of this saga and the fallout already, and personally want it done in order to crack on with the rebuild.
