Here's today's thread

A reminder, this may change as we see how things go but right now:
  • The rules will be more relaxed, but ultimately the discussion should be on the latest transfer news we have.
  • Take any longer discussions on players to the Player Threads.
  • We don't want the "aggregator" type tweets in here but legitimate sources from twitter or elsewhere are fine (see Ticker to get an idea if you're not sure).
  • Relevant images and links are ok to post (e.g. a screenshot of something related) but no memes or random stuff and don't over do it.

Latest info from my mate (reminder it’s second-hand info so truckloads of salt)
  • He still expects Kane to leave - and we will spend the money
  • The finance team still working on overdrive – and expect a few “all nighters” and “late night pizza deliveries" as the month rolls on
  • As he said last month, the majority of our business will be in Serie A. Hardly surprising, with so many fingers in so many pies. If they’re linked, chances are we are chatting with them
  • Scamacca still on the list, but he doesn’t think we will get that far down said list! He may stay in Italy to fill a void ?
  • Offers in for several CBs – last he heard (weekend maybe?) we are still keeping in touch with Kounde’s reps. A solitary transfer may lead to a chain reaction.
  • We do want to strengthen in CM – but would be surprised if it’s JWP as there far better value on the continent at the moment (I think that was more his opinion though)
  • Still thinks Winks will go

I'd agree with all of that except the first and last points. I think its still in the balance regarding Kane as to whether or not they will meet our terms. They will need to do a lot of back tracking to do so. Lets face it though they financially can if they choose to. It' more a battle of principles than anything else now, Winks looks determined to stay(the *****).

Thanks for that.
I am hoping to see the outgoings starting this weekend to enable us to buy who we want/ need. Winks mentioned here, but also the three French players.

Thanks Trix. I'm relaxed about Kane either way. My mate is a Gooner (although he's South African and picked Arsenal when he moved over here in his teens, so not a massive fan), so the Kane bit may be aimed at getting my back up a bit. ?

If Winks stays and proves he has turned over a new page and he is helpful to the cause OK.
But a move would surely help his career more? If he has any international ambitions left I believe he should leave to find regular minutes

Good fór Whiteman to hopefully finally get some minutes, but well now we are short of a third keeper, or do we think Austin can do that?

? Citeh back again…FFS…
Fed up of all this. Only way we know is our way and terms!
They always were coming back imo. It's in the DNA of their club. They don't know how not to get what they want. Money is not an object for them.

Edit: Should say in the DNA of their ownership

There are rumours here in Sweden that Degerfors IF and Spurs have agreed a partnership of some kind. Along with Whiteman Yago Santiago and Maksim Paskotski will join on loan as well. Not sure if true but theese are the rumours close to Degerfors.

This makes sense. We've had these kind of partnerships with smaller clubs before. Nice places to loan players where we can trust they're used well and everyone gets something out of it.

Anyone think it's a bit odd that we're suddenly being linked to so many CM/DMs?

I would've thought that between Hojbjerg and Skipp we had DM covered, while we have Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Winks scrapping for the other 2 CM spots (along with one of Skipp/Hojbjerg too).

Unless Nuno doesn't trust Skipp or we're planning to flog Ndombele, it seems like we're actually OK in that area and would be better off spending money elsewhere. It's not like the names we're being linked to are groundbreaking talents, either.

I really hope it's a quick transfer then buddy. I'm genuinely excited to see who we bring in with the cashola.
At this point I can't wait for the window to end, so we know where we stand.

Of course as I say it's a battle of principles now. The cash is almost secondary.

They say they won't pay over x amount for any player.

We say we won't be bullied this is what it will take.

They were always going to blink first.
