I tend to be fairly balanced/boring on here with regard to our players, so no real humdingers I can think of. I'm not someone who writes people off, and will tend to play devil's advocate and back players who I haven't even seen play that well (current example: Paulinho)

Way too early to be apologising for writing certain people off on the back of two games anyway. No conclusions can really be drawn yet.

Like @Spurs_Bear I wasn't the biggest Kane fan, used to groan when we'd bring him on, the ghost of Allen/Fenn et al haunting my brain. And I'm really pleased to see him not only getting a chance but doing well. But it's still well early to say he'll make it regularly at a top club

On the Poch thing though, I'm a big fan and he was the one I preferred, but it's a bit early to say he'll pull it off with us - we're the graveyard of managers with previous high reputations after all!

I had pretty much written Dembele off and thought he should be headed for the exit. I was wrong.

Since then i downgraded my ability to judge a Spurs player from "shockingly poor" to "no fucking clue whatsoever".

Wrong about LVG who I preferred to Poch but I did add a rider that it might be a bumpy ride and end in tears.
Fortunately not at Spurs.

Wrong at the moment about Dembele who I nicknamed the 'black hole'.
Notice that sneaky 'at the moment' which means this is not an apology at all.
Just biding my time.

My tendency to back the stack on any of our own is bound to come unstuck at some point.
