Rodney Marsh on R5 just announced that Tevez is already the highest paid player in European football at £286K per week, tax free...

Tevez has come out and said he has played his last game for Citeh, stating his relationship with Gary Cook as the main reason

"Since signing for Manchester city, I have enjoyed playing for the supporters. They have welcomed me to the club and I regret that it has come to this.

"They deserve success as reward for their passionate and patient support. The club is very fortunate to have supporters like these. Anybody who has watched me play for Manchester City cannot question my commitment and passion for the club whenever I have worn the shirt.

"However, I can confirm I have handed a transfer request to the chairman of Manchester City Football Club. Now I need to clear my head and think because this is an important part of my career. My feelings have not changed and it is regrettable we have reached this situation but It is something I have felt for some time and have spent many hours thinking this through.

"I wanted to leave in the summer, but was convinced to return to the club. Sadly, my feelings have not changed. I hugely resent the management's suggestions that I have been unduly influenced by others. It was my decision and mine alone. I am disappointed that the management should now see fit to try to portray the situation in another light.

"My relationship with certain executives and individuals at the club has broken down and is now beyond repair. I do not wish to expand on this at this stage. They know, because I have told them. I wish to clarify that I have no personal issue with the manager Roberto Mancini.

"I could have signed an improved contract, offered by the club during this season; however this decision is not about money. I have made that clear to both the board and the management on several occasions. The owner has been very generous with what he has offered to me. I would like to thank Sheik Mansour for his understanding and support.

"I want to thank the supporters for making me welcome at Manchester City and hope they agree I have given my all for the club on the pitch."

I want this to be bad for City and make them look unattractive to top players. It's going well so far.

90 page thread on bluemoon. Loving them crying about it considering there is a hate thread about Spurs every week. Spiteful arrogant fans.

You'll probably be banned ASAP if you do, you'll just be accused of being a "rag"

Interesting some City fan posted this...

Boca

Tevez forces his way out of the club claiming that the press intrusion in Argentina is too much for him and his family and the club aren't doing enough to support him. Public bust up with manager also ensues.

Claims he loves the club and supporters, and always will.

Time at club - 2 1/2 seasons.

Corinthians

Tevez forces his way out of the club, going on strike, after arguments - some physical - with teammates, the head coach and the club president.

Claims he loves the club and supporters, and always will.

Time at club - 1 season.

_________________________________________________________________________________

West Ham

Tevez almost immediately falls out with the manager and players. Storms off and threatens to go on strike after being substituted. Goes AWOL to Argentina at one point.

Strings the club along before swiftly ditching them.

Claims he loves the club and supporters, and always will.

Time at club - 1 season.

Manchester United

Tevez complains of being fatigued and overplayed in his first season. In his second, he complains of being underplayed - drama queening it every time he's taken off - managing just 5 goals, despite playing more minutes than the league's third top scorer Fernando Torres.

Parting shot of 'I'll scream in Ferguson's face when I score against them'

Claims he loves the club and supporters, and always will.

Time at club - 2 seasons.

Manchester City

Tevez is tired, homesick, wants to retire, takes time off to see his daughter and is caught on camera spending that time banging his mistress (the actual banging remains unphotographed), feels there's too much greed in football despite being the highest paid player in Britain, hates football in general yet throws a wobbly every time he's taken off, wants his old life back, hates the club executives, claims that he would like to punch his young teammates and finally hands in a transfer request.

Claims he loves the club and supporters, and always will.

Alright lads, thought I'd drop by with my opinions on this, shall we say, debacle.

Tevez, while playing for us, has been unquestionably our best player. However, for a considerable period I've been distinctly unimpressed with how he has handled himself off the field; his clear dissent towards Mancini on a number of occasions especially when being substituted, talk about retiring from the game, so I thought a situation like this was only a matter of time. Sadly, I was right.

One thing is clear though: MCFC are absolutely not prepared to let him hold the club to ransom, as the club statement shows. I think Tevez has been badly advised by Kia Joorabchian in all of this, he clearly thought releasing this statement and transfer request would reflect badly on the club in the media as has happened on numerous occasions this year. This has been very badly misjudged, with the papers clearly siding with City and labelling Tevez as 'just another moneygrabber'.

Now, Tevez leaving us would be extremely disappointing. Yet in my opinion it really isn't the end of the world. One look at the league table, and another at our squad confirms that. Look at the way we beat West Ham on Saturday (yes, I realise it is West Ham, but the performance was utterly sublime. That was without a certain No.32. We will most likely buy another striker, but that's not to say we haven't got a couple of quality ones already at the club in Balotelli and Adebayor. We have a top class playmaker in Silva, a fantastic prospect in Adam Johnson and some real quality in midfield in Yaya Toure, Milner, Barry and De Jong.

I consider the Sheikh, Khaldoon al Mubarak and Garry Cook to have sufficient bottle not to give in to Tevez's demands of circa £300k p/week as has been reported. Because that's all this was ever about. He's on an astronomical amount as it is. We'll see how it pans out though, because if nobody wants/needs him he may be forced into a rather embarrassing apology.

Wish you lot had beaten Chelsea yesterday anyway ;)

Welcome to the board mate :hello:

Whilst I must admit there is an element of Schadenfreude in this situation from a Spurs fans point of view, I am interested in what you lads are feelings over there.

If a similar thing was happening at Spurs and I felt a player was holding the club for ransom over a new contract, improved wages etc, I think I'd feel that I just wanted shot and that I wanted the club to hold firm and send a message.

But, from an outsider point of view, Tevez does seem to be the heart beat of the team, he is a special player who seems to make you lads tick. Some of the stats about City winning the games that he scores in, are pretty astounding.

Is there any feeling amongst you lads that Tevez is so important that he needs to be placated at all costs? Even if that means just writing him a blank check?

If he does leave, how would you feel about this season? Would you re-evaluate expectations? Rather than winning the league, just top four and then rebuild in the summer? Or would you expect money to be spent in January and a potential replacement brought in?

I'm with you re sending him a message. I think the club are making the right move. Threatened legal action for breach of contract if he retired. There is no doubting that Tevez is the best we've got. However I'm certain we could cope without him given the other quality we've got. Which is why I would not re-evaluate expectations. My 'expectation' is 4th, but see how we are placed at the end of January. I think the squad we have (with another striker presumably, who that might be I don't know but I have some in mind) is definitely capable of doing that.
