Really? That's the worst thing IMO, he's a special player, why would you want the sport to be deprived of such a talent?

Because football makes him miserable. He just wants to hang out with his children and his band. TBH on the back of his football career his musical career would probably be profitable enough for him.

rosell tried to sign him in the summer and as part of the toure yaya deal.

he would have messi, milito and mascherano already at the club.

rosell has the qatri money to play with now, and rumblings that dani alves may have worn out his welcome

Shame, understand it helps us, but its the downside of watching football the guys you root for and sorta idolize can just vanish the next day.

City will offer him another 50 grand a week on top of what he earns, his family will move to europe (somewhere warm) so he can see them more often and this will all be just history by Jan

city have rejected the request. the rumours about him retiring will grow now because that could well be his only way out, he doesnt strike me as a lad who will sulk if selected like berbs, lescott etc and will still give his all while hes at city so if thats the case then city wont sell him so he has a difficult decision to make

City with official statement on their webpage. It appears that he's been trying to get a better contract for the past couple of months...

The club statement continued: "Roberto Mancini and all at the club have shown, and will continue to show, sensitivity to Carlos' personal circumstances including the issue of his family being based overseas.

"Indeed following his suspension as a result of the game against Bolton, Carlos requested, and was given, special dispensation by the manager to take leave overseas.
"The written transfer request is in stark contrast to Carlos' stated position in both public and club contexts.

"Significantly, over recent months, the club has also received numerous requests from Carlos' representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

"However, in line with the club's policy of not negotiating playing contracts mid-season this has not been granted. Carlos' current five-year contract has three-and-a-half years to run and he is the highest paid player at the Manchester City Football Club.

Good grief...he is on more than Ya-Ya??!?

Tevez isn't going anywhere, the real question is, is Mancini? If the two don't get on then it's up to the club to decide who they need more, if it's Tevez then I suspect Mancini will be shown the door, if it's Mancini, they will probably just let Tevez rot, they don't need the money and they won't want a rival to get their hands on him.

His agents saw how this tactic worked for rooney & they're replicating it. He is driven by money & nowhere will pay him more then city & with the 'Beckham' agreements supposedly being stopped in Spain not even Madrid can offer more then city

Another Rooney episode to milk more money I bet.

I can't see many clubs matching his wages that he is on at Man City....can you imagine if Madrid or Barca decided to pay him more than Ronaldo/Messi? Not going to happen.

Well apparently he's willing to take a pay cut. I hope he leaves.

He is just a trouble maker and has been that way at all the clubs. If Fergie wouldn't tolerate him why should his wife?
