Just watching West Brom, there strength is obviously crossing into the box for Rondon. We will need to defend set pieces well and not give cheap free kicks away next week.

We do that and there's no reason why our quality shouldn't prevail after a clear week's rest.

They're organised under Pulis but they've still got plenty of mistakes in them...we bring our A pressing game and they'll find it very tough IMO.
Yacob now suspended for the game against us- he's pretty important to them.

Alli has to come back in so its a case of Lamela or Son, for me. Tough call.

Son over Lamela all day - I'm fed up with watching the ball bounce off Lamela. He's like a skinny Pavlyuchenko on a cocktail of amphetamines, cocaine and Haribo Sour Mix. More guile and goal threat from Son, we shouldn't need Lamela's Duracell Bunny act to beat West Brom.

Lamela should play, need his creativity and wit to unlock a tight and organised West Brom team that will sit back.

WBA losing Yacob is pretty significant - a busy little fuck who will patrol that space right in front of their back four spoiling as much as he can. They'll definitely be a little more vulnerable without him.

Agree with most here, Alli back in the side
Not that bothered who start of Lamela and Son, rate them both,
but think Son perhaps have more to offer coming off the bench than Lamela do.

Lloris (c)
Walker - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Alli - Dier
Lamela - Dembele - Eriksen
Kane

Vorm, Trippier, Wimmer, Bentaleb? (Davies or Carroll), Onomah, Son, Clinton

It's December, we will need to
Rotate a little. So if Lamela plays instead of son, we can play son the next game, and so on

9 players are guaranteed and it's just 2 to pick from Alli Lamela Son

My XI

Lloris
Walker, Toby, Jan, Rose,
Dier, Alli,
Son, Dembele,Eriksen
Kane

Harsh on Lamela, but Son edges out Lamela in the line up.

If it were up to me I would give a midseason break for one of Kane (or Eriksen) for 12 days and rest him for WBA & Monoco games. Bring him back on Dec 13 for Newcastle game.

We have already qualified for EL-32 round. So, Monoco is not a problem.

It may affect us short term, but IMO will give the lad a deserved break & help him freshen up

I'd rest Dembele here. Unneeded against WBA, and the creativity of Son/Alli/Lamela will be helpful.

Alternatively, I'd rest Dier, and play Dembele/Alli as the CM2s.

Personally I think Son, Lamela, and Eriksen all work very well together and I want them to replicate the beginning of the season when Son was scoring. So I'd keep them in. This would mean one of Dier, Dembele and Alli would be on the bench. Well, Dier will play, so for his partner, I like Alli as a CM and think it wouldn't hurt to give Dembele a rest incase he gets injured from playing too much (was a bit worried against Chelsea) so Dier and Alli would be my mid 2. Back 4 as is.

we def need to start resting players where we can and think Dembele is a big priority for this then some of the younger ones like Dier where they are showing some fatigue.

Certainly seems like a smart play to me to rest one of Kane, Eriksen, dembele or Dier. It's what the squad is there for.
