I would freshen things up as well. Personally I thought we looked really sluggish second half, just drained and jaded looking,...even on the ball we look careless and sloppy, which is a sign of mental fatigue IMO.

Praying Dembele is back, who was a big miss today IMO. Away from home I quite like Dembele deeper.,,winning the ball from deep and then using our pace to break on Southampton.

I know Son hasn't been great since returning, I think we need him back and playing well to get into the groove again. Definitely would give Njie a go as well...and these three combined really well against Monaco, a nice blend of pace, work rate and link up even though not everything came off.

Anyway:

Lloris

Walker
Toby
Jan
Rose

Dier
Dembele

Lamela
Son
Njie

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Eriksen, Bentaleb, Alli, Chadli
I like!

You need to decide if Eriksen is on the pitch or on the bench, don't sit on the fence...

Got absolutely no idea if Bentaleb is an upgrade on a knackered Dier, or even level, but he deserves another go. As I said, wasn't as hard on Carroll today as others were but would still drop him for Dembele is fit. Onomah deserves a chance - either him or NJie, Eriksen needs to sit on the pine for a couple of weeks and see how comfortable he feels after that. Got no interest in giving Son a start until he shows more in the lengthy cameos he's being given.

For me Onemah like Carroll is not ready for EPL.

I wonder the reason for playing Carroll ahead of Bentaleb vs Toon. Yes Tom did ok vs Monaco but did not stamp EPL on it for me.

My team would be...

4-2-3-1: Lloris; Walker, Toby, Jan, Rose; Dier, Dembele; Lamela, Alli, Son; Kane.

Subs: Vorm, Wimmer, Davies, Mason, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Chadli.

Back-five picks it self, as usual. Dier wasn't good in the second and look tired, but we really need him... Mousa back, I hope. Eriksen hasn't been good lately, Son gets a chance to start.

Wanted to have Onomah och Clinton on the bench, but our squad is competetive.

We'll win this one.

I would go with

4-2-3-1

LLORIS

WALKER
TOBY
VERTONGHEN
ROSE

BENTALEB
DEMBELE

LAMELA
ERIKSEN
SON

KANE

This would be my team. Alli has been awful for the last few games, so needs to be given a break. Dier has dropped off a bit as well and is starting to look more and more like a CB playing in midfield. I feel the 3 behind Kane gives us the best balance of guile, creativity, pace, graft and goal threat.

Bentaleb concedes possession far too easily

He actually retains the ball very well, but then he will brain fart & thread a through ball to the other teams striker. Happens far to often when he plays.

Yes he is yound needs to learn etc but he hasnt managed it so far! hoping Alli's performance has made him sit up and take notice & forcing him to improve his game.

Back 4 and keeper picks itself but I'd look at reshuffling the front 6

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose

Dier Dembele

Lamela Eriksen Son

Kane
Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Bentaleb*, Alli, Chadli, Clinton

If Dembele isn't fit Bentaleb has to play, Alli has been pretty average the last couple of games so I'd stick him on the bench and see if he can make an impact from there. Onomah replaces Clinton on the bench if he's still got a knock

does the back 4 pick itself. whilst im inclined to agree maybe a wimmer/towbs combo is worth a try after verts got done for the late geordie goal.like

South Coast Big Club apparently, which makes no sense. I thought it was South Coast Beach Club for the longest time, which makes perfect sense. Wankers.

Anyway, my lineup:

Lloris
Walker - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Dier - Dembele
Lamela - Eriksen - Son/N'jie
Kane
Please more pace and a genuine No 10 next time, Poch. Eriksen was doing so well in his deeper No 10 role before this "No 8 in the No 10 spot flanked with no pace" experiment Poch has been running recently. It's just flat out silly and negative tactics, so rectify it. The only thing missing in our mentality is confidence and aggression, and I think a lineup that promotes that would be a solid step in improving that.

It's because former Southampton chairman, Ruper Lowe claimed that they were a bigger club than Spurs.

I really do feel like we have to try and do something a bit different as we're just sleepwalking to a top 6 finish at the moment when the league's more open than it's ever been. 6 wins from 15 games isn't good enough.

What we really need is pace and more threat from wide areas, as we need to be more of a threat on the counter attack and have more delivery from wide areas - I can't believe there's a team in the league that's put fewer crosses in from open play than us - and Eriksen and Lamela in the wide positions just isn't working at all. Yes, in the first half when we're on top we have the full backs to do that, but when we're leading, under pressure and have the chance of a break away, it's the wide player we need to do that and neither Eriksen or Lamela are up to the job, and they should either play as no.10s or not at all. We've been playing with three number 10's behind Kane and it hasn't been working.

So here's who I'd go with:

Lloris
Walker - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Dier - Dembele/Alli
Njie - Eriksen/Lamela - Chadli/Son
Kane
