I think we need to go three in midfield but considering the team we had out and we only conceded the one I think with some of the senior players on the pitch we can win this and got through.
We need European football at this club and I cannot and will not accept the point of view that this tournament is beneath us even if it not where we want to be. We need to go strong albeit perhaps not first choice on Thursday. But, seeing their social media stuff and their fans chatting - they are confident they can get through which would be massive for them. Personally I think it would be a great chance for Harry to get minutes in his legs and perhaps gets off the mark for the season.

Gollini

Doc Sanchez Romero Davies

John Hoijberg Lo Celso

Moura Kane Gil

Res: Austin Dier Reguillon Tangaga Skipp Bergwijn Son Scarlett

Looking at tickets be lucky if get 25k. Which is fair enough with a home PL game 3 days later. I dread to think if the 3rd group game is a dead rubber, would literally have to give them away for free. Going myself as can’t go Sunday, currently just saviouring every opportunity to be in that stadium.

I think we will go fairly strong for this one as we will want to stay in the competition. I think the main reason we rested the entire first team last time was the travel rather than the game time.

Gollini
Doherty - Sanchez - Dier - Davies
Gio - Winks - John
Gil - Kane - Sessegnon

Austin - Tanganga - Paskotsi - Fagan-Walcott - Hjoberg - White - Dele - Clarke - Scarlett

I'm assuming CCV, Romero, and Rodon are all injured. If Romero or CCV is fit, slot them in for either CBs. If Tanguy isn't gone by then, slot him in for John. Swap Scarlett in for Kane after 60 minutes if we're up and cruising.

Something like

Gollini
Aurier Dave Romero Sess
Sissoko Skipp GLC
Gil Kane Lucas

If we cant score a few with that team then its going to be a long season!

I can't see Aurier or Sissoko being involved.

Romero, Sessegnon, Bryan, LoCelso and Kane should play to help get their fitness up.

I just hope we don’t play 5 at the back again. On paper we had the personnel to make it work in the first leg, but it really didn’t.

Selection will depend as much on fitness levels as anything. I suspect pretty much the same team as the first leg, barring injuries, but with the youngsters making way, and more experience on the bench.

Could be interesting at centreback though with Romero, Rodon and CCV all doubtful.

So maybe:

Gollini

Doherty Dier Davies Sessengon

Skipp Winks Lo Celso

Gil Kane Bergwijn

Subs Austin Paskotsi Fagan-Walcott Sanchez Reguillon White John Dele Clarke Lucas Scarlett Markanday

I would shore up the midfield with one of Skipp or Hojberg. I'm not trying to look ahead or underestimate them but we have two home matches in a row, and for either I would hope that we do not need 2 defensive minded players. I know both can do a little more than defend but I would like to see one in this match and the other one in the next match with more attacking minded players next to them.

For this match: Winks - Skipp - John
For Watford: GLC - PEH - Dele

Perfect game now for Kane to start tomorrow night to bring him up to full fitness before Watford.

Start fairly strong put the game beyond Pacos then give the youngsters minutes but maintaining a strong back line.

Are we still at 5 subs allowed for international competition?

If so, start the same exact team from the away leg (except Winks, who shouldn't make the squad) with a bench of Son, Kane, Dele, Stevie, and Lucas. If they don't turn it around in the first half, bring on the big guns in the second.
