Really didn’t think Sanchez was that bad most of the game. Dealt with pretty much everything that came his way. OG came from poor defending from Reggie - if Sanchez hadn’t got something on it, it goes through to Bowen anyway.

Found our new scapegoat though.
Hes been awful for weeks. Gave the stupid penalty away v United two weeks ago. Hes so shaky on the ball and under pressure. He gets bullied by physical strikers even though hes a unit. Awful awful footballer.

I thought Ndombele was great and Hojbjerg was fine in the first half. We never really had full control, though, and I think we need Lo Celso in for Sissoko for that to happen.
I guess, but those blaming the defense might ask why the hammers carved through the midfield time after time to even get the chances. I thought we signed Hojbjerg to stop that.

We have preferably got to stop giving away stupid free kick that allow teams we’ve outplayed to launch it into our box. If we can’t do that, we have to defend them better. Everton’s, Newcastle’s and two of the West Ham goals have all come from free kicks on our right side that we should have done better on and it’s cost us 5points at home.
Our set piece defending is absolutely abysmal. I’m sure Jose believes in his methods but the results are fucking awful. Something’s got to change in that regard.

We've been shit for a couple of season now. And things just don't feel as bad when you're shit. But getting this in the face when things are generally looking rosy is incredibly painful. I'm getting CL final flashbacks from this.
Thankfully we've got LASK on Thursday and Burnley away on Monday, this one will be forgotten sooner than you think; imagine if this had happened just before an international break!

I thought Kane was running on empty for the last 10 -15 mins he’s not had a break and should have come off for fresh legs even how brilliant he was today

OGs can happen to anyone. Sanchez was better than Toby for most of the game - covered more space and called the shots.
Kane did more defending today than Sánchez did. :ROFLMAO:

OGs can happen to anyone but it happened to the guy who also concedes penalties, dumb free kicks, and can’t win a contested header to save his life. Almost cost us with his Europa league performance against Plovdiv which everyone has somehow forgotten.

a liability is a liability. The fact is he has form for this.

I’m done with him after today. He’s still young for a defender and has the raw ingredients to be a good player but he costs us far too often. Shouldn’t be in the team when the alternatives are fit and available.
Losing faith in Sanchez week by week ...this isn’t a one off it’s been happening with increasing regularity. Shame as I really think he has all the attributes just constantly makes too many mistakes
